Damptronic Vs Techart -My comparison
#16
yrralis,
I don't know if we are talking about the same thing, but there is validity to your observation if you feel that the Bilstein is stiffer with road obstacles. Basically the TechArt spring is progressive and Bilstein is linear, meaning TechArt will be initially soft then stiffens, whereas Bilstein is the same rate throughout its travel.
The good thing about TechArt is then when you first hit that road obstacle, the response is softer. (The bad things are it would also lean/squat/dive more for the same reason -- that it is at first soft, and has a non-linear response -- which depends on whom you talk to, maybe good or bad.)
I'm glad to hear that it's all working out well. There is some comfort in knowing Bilstein is the OEM supplier for the 911.

Yep . agree. The Bilstein seems to interract with the road placing less strain on the tires to grp because it has just the right amount of play through the range of motion on a curve . I love it . The Techarts in sport mode were hard planted making a firm ride but also putting a lot of accontability on those PS2's to hold grip.
Also the initial "bouncy" that i felt had subsided with 100 miles on the car . Maybe its just that i adapted but I tend to notice that a new suspension seems to settle with a little use .

Correct. It's an impressive system . Keep in mind that i have had my car for 19 months . The first three the suspension was stock and for 16 months I had the Techart springs . I won't go back to springs. Ifelt that it was time for a change with a more sophisticated system but the Techart coils were more expensive so I decided to try these .
I didn't know what to expect and I voiced that on the forum . Also added to the damptronics - the Gt2 sway bar. This really keeps the tail spot on through a turn . The improvement is significant .

i thought techart springs performed very well compared to stock based on the reviews i have seen, so is that incorrect , based on ecolu as well?

Bang for the buck the Techart springs cost a lot less and offer a major improvement above the stock springs . I just find the Bilsteins offer an improved feeling going into a tight corner . The springs place all the effort on the tires to griip since theres very little play . The damptronics provide just enough roll to ease the tires yet not so much that the car feels bloaty .
