US vs German vs UK 997TT tuners

... in the latest (April) issue of 911 & Porsche World magazine.

9ff
EvoMS
DMS
Cargraphic
Revo

interesting test, GPS'd accel runs down a runway. same day, same driver.

now one-day group test could be improved, but its nice to finally see an independent instrumented test of tuners from both sides of the atlantic...

anyone here know some of the cars involved?

Just bought the issue and viewed.
here are some of the test time details

Time is 0-60mph 0-100mph 0-150mph 0-180mph

STOCK 997TT MANUAL 3.8 8.4 19.9 N/A
REVO TECHNIK 570HP 3.5 8.2 18.4 N/A
9FF TR60 590HP 3.6 7.4 17.6 N/A
DMS AUTOMOTIVE 605HP 3.6 7.7 17.9 N/A
CARGRAPHIC RS 620HP 3.3 7.3 15.5 N/A
EVOMS EVT700 730HP 3.5 7.7 16.8 N/A
9FF TR74 730HP 3.4 6.8 14.3 22.5

Note is
1.The CARGRAPHIC RS car has been lighted weight.Approx 330lbs lighter than stock car.
2.The 9FF TR74 is not based on VTG turbos but 9FF 750R turbos.

This test also added standard 0-30mph launch time(1.5 secs) to all the cars.So the real test time started to count from 30mph.

Just to add the 0-160mph times:

19.4 - Cargraphic / RS Tuning
19.7 - EvoMS
21.8 - Revo
20.6 - 9ff (600hp)
17.0 - 9ff (730hp)

as pointed out above, the Cargraphic car was stripped-out and lighter

Cargraphic car is lovely... but not comparable to the rest IMO

it is stripped out, and seems more like a track car than a street car.

having said that, i'd trade a bit of top end speed for something that's lighter and more agile, so yes... it would be my personal choice

Cargraphic and 9FF are unbelieveable expensive... a 600hp kit cost you over $50000 usd for just parts and tuning. They do include a little more parts than the US tuner's 600hp kit but not perform much better.

Lots people here got EVT700 but how many people got Cargraphic powerkit 4 and 9FF TR60 or even 74????Especially as today's economic conditions???

Lots of people have them! in europe.. On this board 98% (?) percent of the members are from the US, thats why you don`t see many 9ff tuned cars here. 9ff does extremely fast Porsches, and i belive they have the fastest porsche turbo in the world in the quarter.

You can reduce weight from replacing seats, wheels and insulation that you can get to easy enough, rear seats, subwoofer box as a start. 350 lbs sure sounds like a lot though. Ti lug bolts, be **** on the tire choice (I think you can save a lb or two there depending on what your car came with).

I have said it before and will say it again -- A one car per tuner test is not enough info to claim anything . Plus journalistic bias is rampant in any magazine writing for profit . Otherwise we'd all have read Edmunds and bought GTR's .
