Wink tubi inconel race manifolds

<P>hi fellow 6speeders</P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>just purchased 09 997tt cpe&nbsp;wht/blue about 6wks ago. i had some cosmetic exterior changes done to recapture the "classic" look of the car that started it all; the '73 911 Carrera RS 2.7. i am waiting to order "red" center lock rims (conversion system) when it becomes available to finish the "look"</P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>i feel like dr. evil with all the quotation marks.<IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/smLach2.gif" border=0 smilieid="15">&nbsp;sorry.<IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif" border=0 smilieid="3"></P>
<P>&nbsp;</P>
<P>anyway-i also had performance mods done: GIAC ecu retune, tubi remoras with 200 cell high flow cats, and tubi f1 inconel race manifolds; final output 605hp.<IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border=0 smilieid="4">&nbsp;H&amp;R springs and GT2 sway bars to follow when rims are ordered. looking into&nbsp;Werks1 carbon fiber air intake system along with&nbsp;Champion sport club intercoolers later on.<IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif" border=0 smilieid="1"></P>

<P>finally i had the interior "tricked-out" a little: red seat belts, select interior trim painted, deviated stitching, colored trim carpets, etc.<IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif" border=0 smilieid="7">&nbsp;anyone willing to sell OEM fire extinghisher with "canister" please contact. cannot get OEM cannister after the fact only mounting frame.<IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif" border=0 smilieid="9"><IMG class=inlineimg alt=0 src="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif" border=0 smilieid="2"></P>

[QUOTE][now my questions: anyone have experience with tubi inconel manifolds together with tubi remoras and 200 cell cats?/QUOTE]

Pardon my ignorance but I don't even know what this is . I have heard of the Inconel exhaust system yet I have never heard of it as a Tubi/Inconel unless it's on a Ferrari .

Many of the other parts mentioned I have had on my car . I did have the Tubi 200 cell cat exhaust with Evoms headers and now I have the Tubi race version exhaust (no cats) .

I also have the werks 1 airbox . It's nice .

Welcome to the forum . Can you post some pics of your car ?

Also I don't understand the body conversion at this power level . A 1973 RS with the weight and power of the current car ? Can you explain this .

It sounds like you have given the car a lot of thought and maybe you can shed some insight and I;ll just read a bit as you go.

Best wishes with the car and welcome to 6.

Sounds like a great car! I love the look of the Werks 1 CF Air cleaner housing system, so that'll be a great add on. As for the fire extinguishers, email Alex over at Sharkworks. He's a site sponsor and has them, so just click on his banner on the rights side of the screen. Congrats on your car, now get some pix up!!!

thank you for responding. inconel is a special metal used in f1 racing (not exactly sure what's so special about it; has something to do with heat transfer?) that tubi uses to make some headers. these headers are available for the 997tt @ Champion Motorsports. (expensive-oxymoron-anything porsche is expensive) the '73 911 Carrera RS 2.7 analogy was only for looks. i added side strips with the logo and painted certain parts of the car red (side mirrors, center front grille work, turbo emblem and "all" red taillight. i was trying to emulate that "classic" look. i really need to post the pix. sorry for the confusion.

instead of using the quick reply box, use the box just above it to the left labled Post Reply, then when the reply box shows up, scroll down to "Additional Options" and then click on the box that says "Manage Attachments" that'll allow you to post pix directly from your computer. Otherwise you can use a picture hosting site such as Photobucket and then insert the url link into your post.

Thanks . You are correct on the inconel metal quality and 19 months ago when I placed my Tubi 200 cell exhaust at that time Tubi did not have this part so it's a new thing . In fact Tubi even changed the muffler setup to a one piece unit . Back then it was 2 pieces .
Even the mods change with time .

Are you sure you want to spend the money on an inconel intake manifold?

You're probably going to see minimal gains. If you're going that route, I'd wait and save for a bolt on turbo upgrade kit.

Inconel (there are a number of grades) has been around in aerospace applications for a while, used in high temp applications. Its made the move over to race cars for exhaust applications as it can handle boat loads of heat but defintely overkill for stock turbo'd cars vs. stainless steel.

On saying that if you have the $$ and want it, nothing wrong with it! Prices have come down over the last 12 months on most of high temp alloys (as with most metals) but its still much more expensive than stainless.

Question center lock rims conversion system

hello 6speeders
anyone know when the single center lock rim conversion system on the 997tt be available? recently purchased 997tt and would like to convert. they look like Champion's RG5 rims but with a single center lock-way cool very similar to the Carrera GT. i'd like to order them in "guards red".
still trying to post pix, please have patient; as i am still a "nubie" at this.

I did not just install the Tubi alone so it's hard to answer yoir question. My style has always been to negotiate a multiple mod install . My Tubi was first mated with Evoms headers . Evoms flash , Werks 1 . Evoms Intercoolers . I noticed a nice jump particularly in the mid range . I also noticed a more assertive sound .

My second engine upgrade was the EVT700 . This was an enormous jump and I retained the Tubi and werks 1.

My last upgrade to the engine was the Tubi race version with no cats and a re flash of the Evoms sotware to accomodate the new exhaust . This takes the car to an entirely new dimension .

In my opinion the EVT700 with the Tubi race , IBD plenum, and Werks 1 is butt dyno supreme . I love the car . I have done many other upgrades too but that's the engine portion .

thank you for the reply. im lookin into Werks1 and Champion sport club intercoolers in the near future. also maybe upgrading to GT2 or GT3 RS clutch pack. any thoughts? stock clutch "feels" to boosted/assisted? as soon as center lock rims become available gonna go to H&R springs with GT2 sway bars with 5mm spacers. its getting expensive but told the wife it's therapy. i'm trying to get pix up but its been a challenge as i am a novice at this
