997TT prematuire rear rotor wear out?

I have a 07 997TT which needs rear rotors after 26k miles. They are heavily grooved, and are near replacemenet limit, and the pads are at 1MM. Only one track day, which was actually well after the grooves formed.

This seems premature. Its is normal? The fronts are fine with at least 50% life remaining?

BTW where can I get OEM or good replacements without spending $1800 for Brembos? $1800 for Brembos seems excessive.

thanks

It sounds like your PSM must be working overtime to contain the rear end... If you accelerate beyond the cars grip capabilities, particularly in the wet, the brakes are actuated to prevent spin. Would probably explain why the rears have worn at twice the rate of the fronts...

Typical for a 997tt, mine are grooved as well, I just put new pads on for now as they are still w/in spec. You can get a set of new rotors from suncoast very reasonably priced, I believe all 4 were like 800$ plus it's an easy DIY to boot.

Just came across this post while searching for rotor options. My rears (reds) are shot at 20K miles, and the front are still fine. Now I know the reason. This wont stop me from "heavy footing" the car. Instead, I'll just have to build more dollars in my budget to replace brakes more frequently!!
