Abandoned airfield, GTR VS My 997TT
Today we had an empty airfield to ourselves, me and my friend had a chance to run side by side for the first time, he in his GTR, and me in the 997TT. When I was pitting up against him, I already knew I may not stand a chance against the 'godzilla' however I still would like to see what the hype for this car is about. As we lined up I blip the throttle a few times to get the boost up and he did the same. when we hit the gas, I just literally flew by him (he did not use launch control) HOWEVER in a long stretch of airfield, we he slowly crawled closer and closer, which tells me the double clutch worked its magic and it shows. At the end of the airfield I was about 1 car length ahead of him.
To my knowledge about GTRs (which is not much), launch control were not 'by the book' so using them and making false claim while voiding warrenties is a big NO NO for me. I feel that Nissan has fooled almost everyone with their marketing. However he may very well be faster than me with the launch control. That was not the case with it off. So to me, this race was won fare and square, with both cars stock (mine with 20 inch DPEs) and the car used how it was meant to be used per both manufacturers intention.
After a few runs with different drivers, the outcome was the same. Again I do feel that he may be alot quicker with the LC.
I am no fan of the GTR's marketing, however I did feel that Nissan's double clutch was magic, it was shifting to fast I don't know how to describe it other than it sounds like F1. Simply stunning! however the GTR feels like a playstion, feels like you might as well sit at home holding a controller, no driver involvement what so ever, just step on the gas pedal, it will do everything for you. The driving position on the GTR feels like you are sitting taller like in a sedan, feels off and not 'supercar' like. In the Turbo, and F430, you feel like you are sitting low to the ground. It makes you feel 'different' not an everyday car, it feels racy. The GTR is a nice car, personally if I were to own one, its not for fact that is no doubt a great car, but only as a daily commute, nothing more nothing less.
I will update vids and photos once I get them.

Same thing happend when my EVT700 race with a R35 with 600hp.I can't beat it until 4th gear.....between 1-2 and 2-3,Everytime I change gear it catched up a bit...but we only have a 0-1000m track so we can't race over 150mph.My 100hp more can't really help...

We tried once from a 30 mph roll, he crawled me. It wasn't so clear cut as it was in the Japanese youtube videos.

Thanks guys! Like I said I did try the GTR after the runs, there were no possible way to get it off the line quicker without the traction control off. Once off the line, all that is needed is the keep the pedal floored.
***edit*** here is a walk around my car, with the DPEs finally on them! looks like I will wait even longer to get it to lower, since the shipping company lost my MOTON CS shocks.
