What was your psi- if it was stable at 1.1 or 1.2 then you dont have a leak. I have a tip 997TT also, we should run since Im local (Orange County) so you can get some perspective. And then we can run in my GT-R.
Ahh... there it is, he never told me he had the Cobb AP tune. He was telling me about you and how you were getting the HKS 570 installed... congrats! I'm also on NAGTROC (thats how he found me). I'm planning on getting a GTR within the next couple of months.

Unfortunately I wasn't monitoring my boost which I regret I'm gonna do some random pulls with the car today and I'll report back what I'm seeing. Now that you mention he has the Cobb AP though, I doubt I would have won either way.

I knew it couldn't just have the mid pipe. A tune with a mid pipe will take a Gtr to a whole new level. Should really try to run a stock gtr, i still think a 997tt auto should be a tad quicker than a stock gtr. Anywayz, nice run. Be safe guyz.

On the bright side, I think that the GTR is ugly. I also don't like the interior. I was able to sit in one a couple of months back and was not impressed at all.

Same here... the car was just insanely fast. It already IS fast in stock form but I knew it wasnt pull 4 cars on you at 150mph fast.

I don't get why he didnt tell me. I would have still ran him

Typical argument when the GT-R beats a 997TT...

"it's ugly"

I don't understand why TT owners are so sensitive when it comes to GT-Rs.. It's not like one is clearly superior to the other in terms of performance numbers (we can debate Ring times all day), do you really need to find ways to justify to others why you paid two times the price of a GT-R for your TT?

Yes, the styling isn't for everyone. Yes, the interior isn't constructed and furnished as nicely as a Porsche. But it's still an AWESOME car both from a technological and raw performance point of view, not to mention how much of a bargain it is. Is that not reasonable?

To be honest, I've never seen a group of car enthusiasts get more riled up then when TT and GT-R fans get together. Hell, ///M / AMG or Ferrari / Lamborghini rivalries don't even come close to it.

I don't know if this is supposed to be applied to me or not but I never knocked the car hell, I'm going to aquire one pretty soon! LOL

then again, I agree with what you said. I give credit where it's due and the GTR sure does deserve a lot of it.

It's not directed at anyone specific, I just think that the GT-R almost never gets the credit it deserves, especially from the TT fanbase.

Because NISSAN did many ugly things in their GTR promotions.None of car makers did such things to promot their cars before. Not a right way to do business even GTR is a great car.

Hello Nico,

This is Gregory with the GTR. Just to clear up some misunderstanding about the run, the Cobb was uninstalled before the run so I could get an accurate comparison. I'm not interested in pissing competition and I sure didn't do the run to show GTR is faster than 997TT. I would've told you if I was running the Cobb . Like I said, I too was very surprised that the GTR with a mid-pipe was pulling away from 997TT . I seriously thought I uninstall the Cobb incorrectly or you're car wasn't making the power. Perhaps I should run with the Vic's 997TT to get some perspective. I haven't dynoed the car but my butt dyno tells me the car feels stronger with the mid-pipe and runs faster with mid-pipe and Cobb. Since we didn't have a chance to run with the Cobb, perhaps we can meet again to see how GTR with Cobb and mid-pipe stack up against stock 997TT. By the way, your TT is an awesome car and I will be picking one up in the near future once they come out with PDK.

Take care,
Gregory

And its almost 60% of the price of a 997TT...at least it was until the huge discounts on 2009 tt

A comparison between the TTs would be a good idea to start out with. Wouldn't want to be running with a boost leak.
