997tt tip vs GTR

Vic doyou have the hks system on your gtr? What exhaust are you running, any vids etc. What does the hks gtr make at the wheels? I havebeen talking to switzer and am no sure if to go with the 997 turbo tip and the L4 700/750 pkg or the gtr with the p800 pkg. I love how fast the gtr shifts etc but wonder if the tranny will go with all the power. Theporsche is time tested to take beating from what I understand. Looks like the gtr's are in the75-80k range new and used 997 tips are in the 80-90k range. Any input would be great.

Are you kidding... I find hard to see where a GTR P800 can be a better buy than a stock 997TT. If you only care about owning a faster sportscar, i think that you will be more happier with a modded Z06.

Now that I can agree with, there are alot better choices if you are hell bent on performance over badge.

The Switzer package is a bit more power and of course more in cost too. But we all know that Switzer rocks. I just didnt want to send my car across country so I went with the #1 HKS installer in the USA (SP Engineering) which is local to me.
So far the car with the mod is amazing but as you said time will tell about the tranny. I have done extensive research and you really have to abuse the tranny over and over IMHO to get to that level (failure). My car is the updated TCU- so Im limited to 2500-3000 rpm launches. My warranty is shot anways with the mods. I have two friends that own seperate Nissan dealers so I have a little more leeway when and if trying to make a warranty claim.
As mentioned earlier Id like to see a Switzer GT-R against a Switzer 997TT.

Ive never 3 way'd them-
Its been a long time since either my 997TT or M6 was stock but based on the current mods the M6 is still the winner from speeds over 140-190mph. The 997TT is a tip and just takes too much tranny loss up top.
Now since I just modded the GT-R I still remember the stock feel. I can tell you that from a dig, the car is a incredible with shifts faster than the M6 (in S6) and no wheelspin. But the stock GT-R tends to fall flat above speeds of 120 mph. It still moves but not like the M6. With this GT570 package the car is a much different animal. Id like to run Nico to see how much I win by in comparo to what Greg did and then run him in my modded Tip (exhaust, ecu) to see the differences.

I would be curious to the outcome of the GTR modified and the M6 both on the low end and on the top end. From what I understand talking to someone with the HKS 570 upgrades the cars are pretty insane from freeway roll speeds even beating cars with more hp from lower roll speeds due to traction.

My single largest complaint about the GT-R was the acceleration above 80mph. It feels like there is nothing left.
I feel that Cobb AccessPort evens this out. Low acceleration doesn't seem to be affected as much as high speed acceleration.

Agree 100%- the car stockwise plateaus. When I added the Cobb Stage I, the increase of boost helped out in the triple digit speeds.

It is impressive how the M6 aerodynamics plays +150mph. With just a ecu tune (~540hp crank) the M6 is capable to max out the speedo at 210-215mph. The 997TT needs +600hp crank (on maha dyno) to reach that speeds.
Nissan focused more with the "playstation look" than with an efficient body, to win the wind resistance at higher speeds. They made a 997TT competitor in tracks or 1/4 runs, but in the real world the 997TT belongs to a higher league.
