Belt like squeaks after hard rain....common or not??
I know water pours into the engine compartment of these turbos during hard rains. Mine engine squeaks (right rear) like a belt whine after intense rain, but generally will go away. This last hard rain, the chirp on deacceleration will not go away.
Anyone else have a problem like this?? I guess if it is not common, it could be a pulley.
Strange Porsche hasn't found a way to redirect rain water away from the engine. I learned early on to put a towel over the engine fins to avoid power steering problems when starting the engine after washing the tt.

I would think "normal" if the squeak/chirp would eventually go away. But if it persists, hard for me to accept simply a fan/pulley belt. I guess I could try some fan belt lubricant...if it stays, it must be a pulley screaming for proper lub or whatever.

The belts get wet and dry off with a few rotations . More water gets in and it squeals again . If you are on a highway in a downpour it won't squeal once moving . The 997S did too . I had two of them . all three cars squealed. It does rain hard in Florida .
