Cosmonaut is infamous around these parts
Interesting race, I am surprised the gt-r wasn't at least neck and neck with the porsche. How fast were they going when they passed you?

+ 1,

More patience needed. I do not want to know anyone that is being passed at three times their speed.

Love the SPI 750, but not the actual situation.

I'm not one of these people that go acting like they're holyer than thou. I'm not gonna lie, I've been known to endulge in the occassional tryst thought the gears on public roads myself (always in Mexico ) but those races with that much traffic really are reckless. There has to be better roads for this, or at least have some friends drive slow to slow up traffic behind you creating a traffic break between you and the other cars. I appreciate the point of the videos to showcase what the cars will do, but please be safe out there, not just for yourselves, but also for others. All too often we're reminded of just how dangerous street racing can be and the last thing we need is for Porsches to be involved, our insurance rates are already too high!

My best friend was killed a week ago by 2 guys in their WRXs drag racing down a stretch of road. One of them couldn't control his car and slammed into my friends car. The force of the impact split his car in half and flung his body 30 yards into the front yard of a house. His parents could not even identify him - such was the state of his mangled body. He had just turned 25.
The WRX driver only had a broken arm and a few scratches.

Moral of the story? If you want to prove who has the bigger dick - take your cars to a proper drag strip.
Charlie, my condolences to you and the rest of the friends and family of your buddy. I agree with you and I think the only way to curb streetracing on a large scale would be for more dragstrips in metropolitan areas. These dragstrips need to keep the rules to a minimum or they'll be chasing away the very people that need these put into place. They'll need to be "at drivers own risk" that way they're not swaded by insurance companies to putso many rules into place that nobody short of a parachute, full cage, 6 point harness with hans safety devices can race. Yes I'm all for safety, but I'm also all for getting these races off our streets and onto a track. At the same time, I'm a hipocrate and will admit, I have took part in some fun races on the streets, but I'm never as wreckless as to race in traffic or crowded blvds where an accident might mean going into a bus stop full of people. I am one of those people who does enjoy the race vids of 60-130 runs or roll on races, but the ones I enjoy are on empty highways with very little risk of injuring other innocent people. Ok that's all I have for this subject.
