Smoking really bad

Last night i was backing up a very steap drive way and there was so much smoke coming out the rear, i meant a LOTS OF SMOKE. not sure if it from the exhaust or not.

Is this normal? I mean it smoke really bad and it doesn't smell not like buring oil but something else. Can someone tell me if they experienced this, is this normal? thanks

08 997TT 3,500 mile, manual

that doesn't sound normal at all. Did you overfill the oil?

was it a white smoke?

occasionally on a cold start, my car will spit out a couple puffs of white smoke. If i'm in a parkage or garage, its quite noticable.

Mine puffs out white smoke occasionally on cold starts also, that's oil left in the turbos which is normal.

To the OP, did it smell like burnt clutch?

That is exactly what is smell like, burnt clutch. Smell like one of those grinding disc when you grind metal off. There was so much smoke it look like the car was on fire, I don't mean a puffs of smoke but A LOTS. It like when you do a burn out for 30 sec or more.

Is this the clutch?? because i was trying to back up a very steep 30ft drive way. I driven alots of manual transmission car and never seen this before. Is this normal?

Hum,

I don't think it's the clutch.

I notice it doesn't have many miles, do you ocasinally drive it?

Oil build up in the turbo makes since, was it a cold start?

Were you riding the clutch the entire time you were backing up? I've noticed it's alot easier to burn the clutch on this car compared to all other manual cars I've owned in the past.

it was about 3.5 hr when i left the party so i guess it was kinda a cold start.

I don't drive it that often, only on a sunny day. I drive my E55 AMG most of the time. It rain in Seattle 10 months out of the year

I had to ride the clutch just to back it up the steep driveway, there was no way for me to turn it around and go forward up.
