My first Porsche: 997TT or 993TT?
#16
I owned both . I still miss my Polar Silver 993tt . What an amazing car it was . At the time it was so ahead of anything in its price range .
Tough choice . I love my 997tt too.
If you plan to save the car and keep it stock and can even find a 993tt with under 10K miles .. and make it a garage queen it would be hard to argue the choice .
But if you want more modern and warranty availablity the 997tt is agreat car .
It really depends on you .

I also owned both and miss my 993TT. Mine was Mercedes silver from the factory with red leather interior.
As for maintenance/repair, let's face it, none of these cars are cheap once they get some age and use. I had some issues with turbo chargers and the check valves on the 993.
They are both great cars but pretty different from one another. The 997 is much more refined and the handling is better. But the 993 has great power and handling for a car of its vintage, not to mention the distinctive styling.
Good luck in your decision

Having a warrantee for a DD is a big plus which would take some of the risk of a big repair bill so the 997 would get my vote. I will take issue as the 993tt is pretty bullet proof but in spite of the that 12 year old systems can be expensive. Performanace wise
the 993 is just as much fun as a 997. In spite of the advances of the 997tt they haven't been enough for me to sell my 993tt.
