Best Rim and Tyre TRACK SET UP !!!

IF you track your TT the Dymags will not tolerate this I have a friend that DESTROYED his rear Dymags, they brake at 260 kph ! he was lucky and only ruined one rear PCCB rotor and some caliper scratches .

Yes really strange cant believe they use such an unsafe wheel in their cars but I'm sure you also know they are now using FORGED ALLOY wheels.
My Dymags never braked but they always loose air,I had them in a GT3 RS.

Also seen them destroyed on a gt2 at the glen last yr, he wasn't as lucky, his car was pretty f'd up.
As far as wheels and tires for the TRACK, I'd go with the new lightweight OZ supralegga and some old school cups, not the N rated ones, all in 19".

Why not 18"? With 18" you will save weight and have more tyres to choose.

The car is designed around 19s, 18s will work fine too. I track the living **** out of mine with 19s, I find no shortage of available tires. Hoosiers, cups, corsas, r888, etc they are all available in 19. The wt difference btwn lightwt aftermarket rims and cups vs the same setup in 18s is really negligable imo.

Where can i find 18" wheels with the correct offset's for our cars and for the tyres Hoosier R6 245/40-18 and 315/30-18 or Kumho Ecsta V710 245/40-18 and 315/35-18.

I think there are other benefits to 18" vs 19" if you look at any of the cup cars or race cars, they have a higher profile than the /35 and /30 that are on the stock 19s.
I think there is a compromise in terms of handling/stability, where the lower reinforced sidewall of low profile tires does improve handling at street speeds, but can cause the tire to roll over during track use. I think the 18"s with the extra rubber would stretch and give more, leaving more of a contact patch instead of rolling to the extreme outside.
Can anyone confirm this hunch?
