Burned Rotor

Burned Rotor
I took my car in for 30,000 KM servicing (about 18,500 miles). I also asked for a brake change since this would be the first. The guy calls me up later and says my 2 front rotors need to be changed due to burning. I asked how I would burn a pair of rotors since I dont track. He said even aggressive road driving could lead to burned rotors. He confirmed that I had still not worn out the pads completely , so no metal to metal contact. I allowed him to change it but asked to see the rotors when I pick it up.
He said the ring (seen in the image below) is the burn mark and the consequence would be the rotor breaking since it is now brittle. I was not quite satisfied and felt a little uneasy but not wanting to make a scene simply took pics and left.
Any comments guys?
Thanks

Wow sorry you had to pay. I think they took advantage of you. If there was no cracking near the cross drilled holes, I see no need to change out rotors. I hope they changed your pads at the same time.
