Tiptronic 997TT revving where she hasn't revved before
Tip software in development has been a hot topic on the 997TT forum recently. It seems to have generated a lot of inquiries asking if we are also in the process of developing a recalibration for 997TT transmission controllers. GIAC has just released such an upgrade for the 997TT. I am responding to the emails I have received about it, but thought I would post a bit of information here for those who might be curious. To give you an idea of what a tiptronic 997TT shifting at 7000 RPMs looks and sounds like, here is a video of one in action.

Like the 996TTs, the tachometer in the 997TT is a bit slower than our calibrations, so I have attached a log of the actual shift points taken with our proprietary high speed data logger.
As always, feel free to shoot me a PM or email with any questions you might have regarding anything GIAC related.

We found that this yielded the greatest gains for factory turbo equipped 997TTs. This is not the limit, simply the most optimal for the hardware. We did test higher rev limiters as well. Larger turbos would likely benefit from higher shift points.

Andrew,
Thanks for posting the video! Brilliant work.
MSRP for this flash it $1000.
G.I.A.C. has coupled this new TCU tuning with an Engine ECU flash that has a corresponding 7K RPM rev limiter.
Please call, email, or PM me for order details.

We created software for the Natural aspirated 996 but did not release software for the turbo as we did not have a great deal of requests for it. We can definitely do it, it is a matter of time and availability of a test car.

As you can see in our video, the car is revving to 125-127mph in 3rd gear. This will allow for fewer shifts through the quarter mile. It will also allow for track junkies to hold gears at a higher rev if they so choose. Aside from power above 6600-6800 RPMs, it adds functionality.
I should also add that we were seeing on average a .3 of s second gain on acceleration testing from 16-105mph with the higher rev limiter.

Fantastic! Those are the results from just 7k right? if any higher at a more consistant drive what mods should be done if needed? What was the highest speed you guys were able to run it at, if tried.
