So I've been trying to install the 12v power outlet back in the center console and can't get this damn thing in the hole. It took me about 45 mins to figure out how to take it out (longer than it took getting the entire console out) and now I have given up on putting it back in. Basically theres a groove that lines up with one of the grooves on the outlet but the other groove won't go through the hole... Is there a way to seperate the black parts from the chrome parts? Any suggestions would be greatful or I will just end up breaking one of the grooves and hot gluing this damn thing.

I ended up taking the silver/white part out of the black piece to get it out and I installed that way also. There is two little taps that I push in to get these piece apart... Hope that help. I sent you a pm.
