everyone saids "wet" sump but brochure states "integrated dry" sump; which is it? i just don't get it; only a 20hp jump? the new 458 "italia" from you know who has almost 70hp more than, mind you, the Scuderia, with less weight to boot! what gives! dealer stated with porsche it is all about emissions!

Regardless of wet sump/dry sump argument, if Porsche thinks they can sell turbo cabs for 157k Euro ($225,000) they are on crack. I hope they continued their currency hedging. 500hp can be had for far less. If they bring it close to the '09 pricing, it will sell.
As for the cosmetics, was hoping for bit more, and IMHO the wheels suck, but Champion can remedy that in a heartbeat......
And if they added VENTILATION to the adaptives, and a nicer steering wheel (not bad so far in pics), I could be drooling soon.

It's an integrated dry sump.

The separate oil reservoir is now contained within the engine's case rather than outside like a traditional dry sump. The benefits of a traditional dry sump are still present.

looked up 09 turbo brochure word "integrated dry" nowhere to be found!
specifically states "dry" sump lubrication. A91 is a "wet" sump! it's Porsche's Clinton speak. 09 brochure states ".... With a classic dry-sump system, the 911 Turbo ensures ideal oil pressure even under extreme g-force loads....." what once was a special "race" car company is now gone! gonna keep my 09 tt for a long time

There was a great vid on Porsche's .2 motors. I'll try to find it.

What can be seen is being discussed - the "Dry" vs. Wet 'Integrated'", what concerns me is what cannot be seen, like the new motor's metallurgy, crankcase design, etc compared to the GT1 design. Taking the profit center philosophy that created the "integrated" wet sump, then extending it into the internals is the source of my skepticism.
If the GT1 design is gone - to reiterate someone's excellent point - why does the "Turbo option" with its addition of two turbos, intercoolers and a tail to (what has now just become essentially) a Carrera S PDK 3.8 raise the MSRP 25K?, that is the price of another car...

"integrated dry sump" porsche speak for "wet" sump. i hope they do not ruin the GT3, RS, or GT2 (more than likely will get the 3.8 "wet" sump). can anyone say "Ferrari"
