Laser Shifter / Jammer use in CA. Experiences?

Just received my first lidar ticker ticket today going 61 in a 45. My radar detector didn't make a chirp. By the time I noticed the motorcycle cop, he was putting down the gun as he already tagged me.

Question regarding Laser shifter/jammer use in CA, what are the ramifications if I use one and get caught with it? My understanding is they are illegal here? That being the case, I'm looking to hear from owners that have experience with getting pulled over and/or caught and the results? Is there anyway to protect ourselves in CA from Lidar? Bummed in Cali.

Yes, they are illegal there.

However, look into the Escort 9500ci. This is a fully integrated laser jamming and radar detector device.

If you are hit with LIDAR, your 9500ci will jam the signal. You can (quickly) press the mute button (that people usually put on their dash somewhere) which will turn off the jamming. Do that while hitting the brakes

I don't think there is a law against having the device, especially since there is a setting on the 9500ci to put the laser jamming into notification mode only (which means it will alert you to laser, but not jam the signal).

I have the 9500ci and love it. I got hit with laser driving through MD and it worked like a charm. They are not fool proof, however, and would have to be used with great caution in states where they are illegal.

But, the alternative is to not exceed 45 MPH in that zone.
