Rhd turbo on eBay. What would be the cons/pros?
Ran across this nicely optioned turbo on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_1859wt_948
and never really thought about picking up a rhd but the idea got me thinking... Several cons come to mind such as resale value, switching gears with my left hand, and makint turns/manuvering on the right side. I know rhd are rare and pricey in the Jdm market but wha about on the euro market?

The pros would be the price, the cons would be the fact that you'll get robbed.
Looks like the current offer has been made by the owner, why else would someone offer $100 short of a $50,100 reserve?

I used to live in England and I took my RHD Porsche to the European continent a few times. I never had a problem shifting gears with my left hand no matter where I drove it, but I never did get used to riding on the curb, looking the wrong direction, etc. when on the continent. It seemed like the pedal placement was also a little skewed with the RHD.

I don't think they are asking this much tho.
I would say that some of the cars you buy here have a much higher sticker overseas in some places especially Europe.
I would not mind owning this beast, it will take me a while to get used to it but hell it will be fun and unique for sure. Don't buy it as an investment

The JDM RHDs are pricey because they're rare, they're cars that are only made in RHDs. But I'd think a RHD 997TT would be worthless if you intend to use it in the states.

The reserve isn't at $50,100 that's just what he started the auction at. From talking to the seller the reserve is set in the $70's which seems like a steal if it wasn't for that damn rhd . Will be very interesting to see what it ends at. Bet someone isn't going to realize it's a rhd and bid in the $80's

Cons: 1) Making unprotected left turns in a RHD car (here in the <st1:country-region w:st="on">US</st1:country-region>) is akin to having unprotected sex in a <st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Bangkok</st1></st1:city> brothel. Pick you poison, both are nuts. 2) Resale issues that I can only begin to speculate upon.

Pros: 1) Looks like it is well optioned and a great color combo. 2) The JDM tuner crowd will immediately anoint you with god like status.

Adapting to LHD manual transmissions typically only requires a couple of days. However, I’d pass unless you really enjoy spending years attempting to sell your used cars.

I'm just trying to figure out what scam is being run here. There is no financial reason for somebody to bring this car to the USA where they are cheaper than most other countries as a new car.
was it hit?
does it really exist?
regardless, if the money doesn't make sense, it's too good to be true.
