Crazy idea... removing my passenger seat for my dog?

So, hear me out, and then let me know how crazy of an idea this is...

I live in Manhattan, keep my 997tt in a garage below my building, at $440 a month, having a second car is NOT an option. and I LOVE my tt.

I have a dog, pictured, who very obviously would never fit in my car, and as a result I have to leave him alone in a large cage, since he is still only 14 months old, and every day a dog walker takes him out for about 20 minutes, which I feel horrible about. also just as an aside this costs 100 a week.

I run a business and would be able to have my dog in the office every day if I could transport him from manhattan to brooklyn.

So the question is, how crazy am I to take out my passenger seat, put down some sort of mat and bring my great dane to and from work everyday?

He is great in other cars, and he is very well behaved, so I'm not worried about him scratching anything, but I do feel like it's sort of sacrilegious as far as the car goes.

Also, I almost NEVER have passengers in my car. it is my toy, and for the very rare occasions I might need to transport an actual person, they could just sit in the rear seat and have plenty of leg room.

well.... I am afraid to ask, but does anyone actually think this is a good/practical idea?

Don't flame on me but I would get rid of the dog. Looks like it is a lot of trouble to have one where you are located.

Holy sheat that dog got big fast.
I would lay a mat in the rear seats and let him cram himself there for the short ride from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Taking out the front seat is a terrible idea on so many levels.

the real issue to consider IMO is the safety factor for the dog if there is an accident.

Dogs in cars, be it a TT or a gas-guzzling behemoth SUV, are unsafe for any pet that is unrestrained. Putting a dog in the backseat of a 997 is just as bad as the backseat of a Hummer.

What dog - all I see is a pretty girl.

As a dog lover - go for it or find the dog a good home. Not fair to keep the dog caged all day. Cruel and uncanine punishment.

Get him a dog seat belt hook-up (we have them) and see if you can work out something so that the seat can be more readily removed. I cant imagine how awesome it would be to have one of my pooches in the office every day. Look I would take my dogs over most people so I totally get the question. Talk to one of the local shops (Rennwerke?) and see if they could work something out. Worth a shot.

I love dogs, this might sound hideous, but why not just tilt the seats back all the way? just make sure that the seats are covered...
