997GT2 vs Z06

I'd take one any day even for lunch

Can you at least give me some credit? the C6 I currently own (08) is my 8th vette... Including this one, all of them sucked. Can the 911 interior get better? Hell yes it can, you have to order it whereas with the Vette, it was never an option and even the current upgrade, it still looks like crap. I know DS vettes has some very nice stuff for them; but please, this is not a subject you want to get into bud.

I have owned over 50 Corvettes and am now on my 27th Turbo Porsche, a GT2. I loved every one of them (slow ones and fast ones). Bang for the buck you cannot beat a Corvette. When you are looking at the taillights you cannot see the interior. However I will keep my GT2. Thanks

Please, My next door neighbor has an 03' 911TT. I KNOW FOR A FACT the interior is ugly.
I dont know why you guys harp on the 'refinement' and 'luxury' of Porsche, when it was only a few years ago, you guys were paying $100,000+ for trash 996 interiors. Like I said before, Porsche guys should NEVER talk about Vette interiors because EVERYTHING before the 997 had a hot-garbage interior.
Dont try to play dumb.

Way to find the lamest picture you can find. But in case you forgot, that interior was designed in the late 90's. Let's see the Vette interiors from back then, or even BMW for that matter, or Mercedes. You don't have to show me, because I've owned all of them, and the Porsche looks better than them all. And there is no lack of quality.
In fact lets look at an early Ferrari 360 interior with the green backlight on the radio.
You lose.

recently sold the 996TT and got a Z06.
the 'Vette is fun as hell, and really quick at the top end, with minor mods (I/H/E). i have a video against an '02 Murcielago if anyone cares to see it.
i've noticed that it really is a bit of a blunt instrument, out of the box. steering feel is terrible, and while it stops well enough, it just doesn't inspire the same level of confidence the 996TT's brakes did. also doesn't feel as well screwed together.
you really notice that Porsche seemed to have sweated the details on the 911 a bit more.
having said that, the Chevy has a simple, honest appeal that feels more "juvenile" (especially with a Corsa exhaust) than the Porsche, and for a weekend "fun" car, that's a good thing!
but... say what you want about the 996's interior... my old '03 996TT interior (NOT full leather package), still feels a lot more special than the awful plasticky interior of the '06 Z06 that replaced the Porsche!!!

I'm a Porsche person all the way but "bang for the buck" the Corvette wins hands down. I would not expect the fit & finish and the refinement to be the same in a 50,000.00 car vs. a 100,000.00 car. You only get what you pay for and the corvette gives you a lot for the money.

honestly, i dont want to ruffle anyone's feathers, but have you seen the older corvettes from the c5's which you posted a picture of the 996 which matches the year of the c5's.

20K gets you a full Caravaggio interior - leather everywhere, with quilted leather on the door panels and center console, thicker leather steering wheel, and either full CF/leather race seats or multifunction sport seats. They even color-match the gauges - it completely transforms the car. Something to consider if you like the Z but can't deal with the interior.
