Yes, if laser is used fairly heavily in your area, the 9500ci is a terrific device. No laser in PA, but I do travel through MD & other states with laser.

I was driving through MD last spring and my front laser shifters and alarm went off. I looked ahead and could not see anything and thought it was a false alarm. But as I drove further (at about 80mph), I could see a cop car with the officer leaning against his car with the laser gun. He must have been a mile or so ahead of me shooting cars. He painted me until I got within maybe 1/4 mile of him at which point I slowed to 55 and deactivated the shifting (press of the button). I would have been caught for sure if I had only my 8500ix (which I use on my P-car).

All -- I had my rear laser shifter replaced at my dealer today. Escort paid for both the laser shifter (even after warranty expired) AND the installation time. I brought the car in while I had my winter tires put on, so an extra trip was not even necessary.

I want to thank Escort for their very generous customer support and unless they totally derail on something big, I'm a committed customer of theirs.

May I ask what dealer you used as I have been looking for a quality dealer to get this unit from?

Exceptional service and business ethics

When I started this threat to assist others who may experience some water related issues with their Escort 9500ci I never dreamed that Escort would get involved - since I had already had the repair work done. But it happened. Larry at Escort went out of his way to collect information reimburse me - without my asking (also thanks to input from another forum member)!

Offering a state of the art product - love those regular software and location updates - and customer service is worth giving them serious consideration for your radar-laser needs.

Congratulations Escort!

Happy holidays!
K.
