As others have said, I would be very careful...especially as it's a third party used car dealer that's not in your neighborhood. Imagine the expense & trouble if you had to fight them on possible issues.

final outcome=
Plane ticket is tomorrow at 3:30 to go over there, be there at 5.
Called the dealership, he said it is porsche who is taking forever to finish the car inspection. But i am guaranteed a call from porsche by lunchtime tomorrow.
Salesman says he guarantees i will not have to cancel the flight.
I told him about that mainheim auction and he says it is not the same car due to him having bought it from porsche financial. Regardless of the validity of this claim, I asked him about the "below" rating the car had.
He said if i am not satisfied with the car he will refund my plane ticket as well as the deposit.
So i feel a bit better now. We will see what happens tommorow.

i dont think the dealership did it, probably a previous owner. They "seemed" surprised, regardless it is over. Thankfully i kept everything in writing, and pre purchase inspection is the single best insurance you will ever pay for.

as per my pm reply, the seats and shift **** reflected a lot more mileage than reported. how did they find out the mileage had been rollen back and wouldn't this be considered a federal crime?
also wonder what the dealership is going to do now?

I was speculative as well because of the interior wear and tear, i had asked him and he claimed it was just bad in pictures but in person he guarentees its fine.
Regardless the PPI showed: 4800 hours of running time, all 4 brakes needed replacement, and quite a few over-revs.
Once the tech said this to me i replied, "so basically i'd have to be a moron to buy this car?" and he said "well its not in good condition at all" lol

sucks to hear. exactly why we never buy used. too much hassle and "trust issues" with previous owner(s). who knows if they treated it the same way you would treat a car? there are a lot of killer deals on pre-owned 997 turbos right now, especially with the .2 coming out. just keep searching. socal has A LOT of pre-owned 997 turbos to choose from so that saves you some time.
