Go DB9 the Vanquish is based of the DB7 platform which is cramped, not very good and based off a 1970s jag lol. the DB9 is a whole new platform. If you want comfort go with the DB9 if you want nostalgic feeling go DB7/Vanquish

Yes, that's what I thought. I think I will like it better than my 97 XK8 and probably better than the SL65.

better than the XK8 yes, the SL65 is a hard cookie to beat tho, the engine has alot more pull than the DB9 but the sl is abit... generic and steril feeling. the DB9 has soul

That's what I figured. And the DB9 certainly looks better.

You can get a V8 Vantage and supercharge it...that's what I did. But you can't do that, or get a DB9 or Vanquish or F360 or many of the other ones mentioned for that matter, for anywhere near your $70K price target. How about an M3 DCT? Seems like a good compromise and the wife can drive it, too.

looks like your 70k budget is out the window if youre looking at db9. but its a hell of a car, and as mentioned before really is in another league over the vanquish which really does feel dated. actually very similar to an old xk8/r

Just what I was going to say, impossible to get a decent DB9 under 70k...you are hard pressed to find a nice DB7 under 70k.... I have seen some Vanquish's recently on OVE with low miles going for mid to upper 80's. In addition the OP is going to have a hell of a time finding something as fast as his "ex' TT unless it's something older, lots of miles and modded to the hilt.

well it can be done, I know of a DB9 going for around 83K then add in negotiating say 78K out the door? it can be done, it has 10K on the clock its a 05 Coupe but i can be had if you search and are a bit relaxed on the milage and color. I have found no less than 4 that would fit into his budget

+1 on the SL65. Or a 09 SL550. The new SL is hot.

AM Vantage fits well in the budget but I'd be looking at a 360...I didn't look through all the pages but I'm sure you would find with more research, that they are reliable and there's nothing to worry about in terms of maintenance...

How about a Bentley Continental GT? '05s are in the 70's. Add a GIAC chip and you are talking 600+ HP and AWD again. But no matter what you do, don't go out and buy a new one as I've seen as much as $50/mile depreciation on some newer ones.

You want a decent ride to stay in the 500hp club with such a lower budget... Have you ever thought about the CLK63AMG. Evosport can transform it in a true beast with +600hp (N/A engine) and +206mph. They also can become a quite "exotic" with a few exterior mods.

Another true beast is the E46 M3 with HPF Stage 2.5 (750hp) or above (till 1000hp).

Get the Jag XKR (07-09) for 50-70k and mod if you want more power, or an 08 M6.

If you don't want a z06 due to 6 speed, then look at the GS vert.
