Todd you can't trim down too much or else the endurance road testing will suffer. Mike barely puts any load on the turbos.

Is it safe to switch settings on the generation 1 car with the flashloader while the car is running or do you have to turn it off and allow the OBD to accept the changes and run some sort of standard scan?

I have mine permanently connected (I bought an OBD cable extension with a 90 degree plug and connect the flashloader to the dashboard -- see picture earlier in this thread.) and switch on the fly all the times. No problem whatsoever. I only occasionally wonder if I accidentally hit kill mode or valet mode while on the freeway. Haven't had the nerve to try yet. LOL

I obviously absolutely love this feature and very highly recommend GIAC for that reason. It allows detailed and unending :-) analysis of stock versus tuned behavior and allows you to return the ECU tune if you don't like it :-). Pure heaven of a difficult and picky person like me. The scary power in Sport mode also contributes to the recommendation of course.

Mike/Todd, thanks for sharing the data. The pictogram comparing the 2 cars is "illuminating."

Glad you like that graphic.

All the time to interval data out there posted by individual owners ultimately comes down to "who would win in a race". It occurred to me that no one had yet presented those type of comparisons in a graphic manner, so we took the initiative.

The idea came to me in the shower, where I do some of my best thinking.

It is safe to switch with the car running (for safety purposes, it is best to do it when the car is not moving). If you have kill mode, the car must be off for this mode to activate (ignition in accessory position).

Thank you guys for all your hard work!

Does anyone know where you can get an OBD cable extension with a 90 degree plug that Cannga used?

curious if anyone can post similar data for the 997.1 750R pkg?

Raw data:

Stock:
0-60mph 4.0s
0-100mph 8.9s
0-120mph 11.9s
0-130mph 13.7s

GIAC:
0-60mph 3.4s
0-100mph 7.9s
0-120mph 10.8s
0-130mph 12.5s

What does the AWE 750 do 0-60 on stock fuel?

You'll have to ask Gene specifically, but as I recall, he did not do a forceful launch, and you'll have to take the run with a grain of salt. You should be able to subtract about half a second total from the run, just by a granny launch.

http://www.obd2cables.com/products/r...18/category/7/ . The cable has a male connector at one end, and a female on the other side. The male connector comes out at right angle -- the right angle has better clearance so you don't kick it accidentally. I found the length of 2 feet to be perfect and runs this cable underneath the steering column.

I post a picture of the cable here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ed-giac-6.html

But his natural metabolism adds 30whp. That guy burns it at both ends!
