997 GT2 RS Tuning Stage III
#77
It said special IC before too, on the IC picīs it is Secan with 15 cooling channels and it says RS Tuning on them. RS said to my tuner that the new cheaper ones (second picture) doesnīt work with stage 4 well, tomorrow I should know...

These ICīs are from Cargraphic.de, Secan and CG new special IC that lookīs the same as FVD has.
http://www.cargraphic.de/index.php?/...,3811/&start=6
I think CG use wrong picture (Secan) instead of the new special ICīs on their homepage.
9ff ICīs cost 3950€ excl tax and they use them from 600PS to 750PS after that they use water cooled ICīs, thatīs all I know.

Cargraphic used wrong price (25k €) for stage 4 and has now change it back to 35k € + tax on their homepage. I got an offer I canīt refuse for the new ICīs made by NASA and according to CG they add 15-20PS to Stage 3.

I am glad you are happy with your 700bhp kit for less money, I am not comparing our tuning kitīs, we were just discussing the effect air tubes regardless if my tuning is overpriced or not I can afford to buy/build anything I want if this would be a contest
You can compare your car with TB`s RS 660HP GT2, I doubt your advantage of 40HP will matter there, he is on rennlist forum (TB993TT).
I think his car is faster or at least not slower than this kit for 997 Turbo:
tuner: Cargraphic/RS Tuning
kit name: Stage 3 + Carrillo
Turbo: VTG
ECU: standard Motronic
Intercoolers: Secan
exhaust: Cargraphic
air intake: Cargraphic carbon
extra parts: CG headers, 100 cell race HJS cats
dyno resault: engine dyno: 624PS, 900NM DIN

They are broadly similar, on a Schmirler tuned engine they keep within about 20-25DegC of ambient.... on other "tunes" your results may vary

I think the ctr intercoolers uses the marston cores.

Post #86, on Page 6 of your thread, you wrote:
"They said they were surprised how high this IAT was since my cores looked good so they swapped over to a set of Secans and went out again....... they saw 75degC IAT with the Secan so basically the tuning box is super heating the IATs but of cours ethis means that for this test my intercoolers are working nearly as good as Secans...... I think I am fairly safe in saying to expect some RS Tuning engines to be sporting a set in the near future "
Sorry if I misunderstood you, but it gave me the impression that the Secan was still slightly better?

When they did the test it was with that tuning box "tune" the IATs were crazy as the programming was overworking the VTGs big time, they thought my ICs were not good but then swapped to Secan and the IATs were virtually identical, I think he said they were maybe 2 deg C better with the Secan but that was at the ~75DegC level so barely relevant. I suspect the Secans would always HAVE to be a little better
On the engine dyno the average IATs used (during tuning) via the water cooled IC were 36DegC so he definately knew what he was working with....

Not to mention the RS Tuning GT2 achieves 300 km/h 15-17 seconds faster.
