Just watched a Youtube channel special. Gemballa shop is now closed for good, not sure if it is in recievership or not but more than likely, and Uwe himself is hiding from authorties so not to have to go through the bankrupt process or possible jail time.

I feel bad for the guy but running away solves nothing.

It is really sad to read all this ridiculous speculation and nonsense.
There is absolutely no way that Uwe Gemballa abandoned his family in Germany and went into hiding in South Africa. He is my friend and he absolutely adores his son. There is just no way he is in hiding.
If he were to "skip" to South Africa, he wouldn't have to hide. No extradition with Germany.
I am in Germany now. I spoke to the authorities. I called the authorities in South Africa. They quietly agree that they believe Uwe has been killed, and that his body will never be found.
I don't care to speculate on who or why.
But one thing is for sure. I hope this never happens to someone you care about. Because you will tear your hair out when you hear all the "stories",
"falsehoods" and "lies" about your friend.

I do concede that there is the remotest possibility that I could be wrong.
But I would rather take the arrows of being wrong than not stand up for my friend.

Has anyone here been cheated or swindled by Gemballa?

I read some posts that seem to me to be quite sarcastic about this situation and I don't understand why...

Since there is no concrete information about him or his predicament, why don't we stop and think for a minute that we could just possibly be posting flippantly about a man who was taken prematurely and violently from his family...

And on that possibility, no matter how probable or improbable, I couldn't be comfortable with myself for being sarcastic...

Whatever the case the guy has been responsible for giving me one hell of a performance car and injected me with a P car addition that has been impossible to kick. He and his staff was always very accommodating and any time I had an issue they would just say "bring it in and we'll take a look" which they did and always came through.

That is very tragic news Mike, and I'm totally with you, simply cant understand why so much negativity the man dedicated most of his live to Porsche and I think he deserves our respect.

 

Mike, I have to agree that Uwe was not the kind of man who would abandon his family just to avoid a business bankruptcy. It just doesn't make any logical sense.

It is sad that some people are so uncaring and crass as to publicly suggest otherwise. I believe, as do the SA authorities, that we shall never know the final truth of Uwe Gemballa's disappearance.

My heartfelt sorrow for his family and many friends.

 

The news isn't really about the truth... just whatever makes the best story. My thoughts go out to the family.

 

Being kidnapped in SA by a bunch of cutthroats would definately be no laughing matter and its rather dissapointing to see this unfortunate situation has bought out the worst in some people .

Lets all hope for a miracle. If he's been kidnapped by these lunatics he'll certainly be looking for one.

 

I hope is rescued but I fear for the worse.
