Anyone familiar w/ "Oil temp. indicator faulty"?

It seems likely it is bad sensor or connection (obviously). I was just curious as to what might be involved in the repair.

i have been getting a water temp indicator failure, bringing to dealer in the morning, i'll let you know.

Talked to dealer yesterday they are going to start by changing both water and oil temp sensors....basiclly they don't know either..lol...we shall see

Thanks for the update. I talked to my buddy Alex@SharkWerks and he told me that he has seen the issue on a couple on 996's and it is no a big deal. I was really just worried that the sensor would be difficult to reach, making a simple fix into something very involved. Thanks again for the information.

Bizarre coincidence. Did you notice that makes it impossible to check the oil level?

dealer changed sensor on both oil and water seems to be fine...nothing to worry about at all, just took a extra day to get parts

Just got this fault A couple of days ago on my 997.1 turbo. Did the oil change a little bit over a week ago so I guess im going to have to buy a new sensor. Does anyone know where its located?
