I have been up to 39.46 and I am hoping to break 40 soon but I am having problems with spark and fuel.

The only car I know of that got close to that is Arts car. He claimed 2.5 bar which is above 35 psi. He also ran the 221 mph on the lower boost setting and a bad clutch.

Evojohns Evoms GT2 car was also running some serious boost. They expected that car to go very high had it not spun into the weeds. This year should be interesting for sure.

What i cannot understand is how an EVO tunned to its limits can be faster than a 997turbo again tuned to the limits

I thought the fasted evo in the mile was only 221 mph. So it really isn't faster. But these cars are basically all out race cars, they have no bottom end power, they are gutted, and run astronomical pressures in their engines. Tuning Evos has been around for longer than good tuning of 996/997tt engines. Our platforms are just coming into their own now.

But I was referring to a 996tt not an evo by the way. Not sure if you misunderstood my comment.

Ok, well there ya go. I was thinking of your car among several others. I didn't know you were pushing 40 though. Do I hear 41?

FYI, that is our 750 VTG package on a Tip, off the shelf and on street tires...

If you think that car is fast, you should ride in our P800...

evo's have been tuned to the max for a while now. That little 2 liter motor can make some power at high pressures and they don't cost much to replace when they blow.

your turbo motors cost lots more to replace. Unless I had huge bankroll I'd not mess with one. Same with a Lambo.

You sure? After reading posts on both Viper forums I understand that its the 5th gear exploding as a result of 1500+lb ft of torque thats hurting them not the aerodynamics. Huge off idle torque is the penalty for that excessive displacement lol. They get to about 220-230mph with a good bit of room to spare before the mile marker but fifth exploded in all of them.

On topic. I think the Porsches can get to Lambo levels. I watched Tito[Eddie Bello] knock down 160mph traps way back in late 90's early 2k's at Atco raceway. A bit different from the mile but I see no reason why with the advances since then that someone cant come up with a Mile package to put a Porsche at the top.

It will be easier for any car with cubes to have the advantage. They used to say the replacement for displacement is technology. Buuut there is no replacement for displacement..............with boost. It will be very hard to beat the G's "on power alone". If that PDK can hold up to insane power it could be the key imho as its the only advantage the P would have over the G.

Had I the coin Id take Neil up on that offer asap lol. AWD, PDK and a rear weight bias is a great package for a mile conquerer. This mile thing is relatively new. Give it time. Its gonna take alot of innovation and money but It'll happen. BTW didnt a Porsche do 230+ already?

Yes, Evoms did 231mph with Joetwint's car a year ago. When it went back in Sept it had 150rwhp more on tap, but it spun and could not run run the car for the rest of the weekend. They have a couple of cars that are supposed to be more powerful than that one, so we will see how it shakes down in a couple of weeks. Knowing them, they will not disapoint.

Joe, and the other car probably could have gone much faster. Some in here don't know that when he tried the run this time, his sunroof collapsed, he backed and still hit something like 224 or 226 right? Johns car was supposed to go faster from what I am told but it spun out.

I just think that the Lambo's going out and running 241 their first time out was very impressive. I think they have more in them as well (as do Evom's Porsches).

Here is the data from the Oct 09 Tx mile pass that my car made.......
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-mile-run.html
It was about 975 awhp (25 lbs of boost)on this run.Car hit 230 at the 4900 ft mark when the roof popped on me and i backed out of it.The car got light on me in the 25 mph crosswind and the chute pulled the car around. This run had I been able to stay in it probably would have resulted in a 234-235mph.With all the power on tap what would it have run?I dunno .......but i do know the Porsches can compete with the Lambos if done right.I will say that the lambos are very impressive and i think they will probably run even better this go around.
