will the Porsche tt beat the Gallardo tt one day ?

Hopefully these street races between high hp cars involve closing off the roads so nobody can get injured (besides drivers of course).
Markski is totally right. Tire setup and actual road conditions can make a big difference. The lambos that run sticky tires and are awd are very hard to beat because they have such grip and power right off the bat thanks to the larger displacement.
Once you get to a certain point, power becomes null on the streets. Tracks are prepped and controlled environments. A 7.x second ViperTT will not be running 7's on the streets. My high 9 second Z06 would be lucky to high low 11's on the streets on street tires. It needed a drag radial setup to compete and even then, it's pretty damn tough. I remember trying a highway roll against a ZX10 at 60mph and doing a 360 on the highway (thank God somehow I did not crash). Needed 90mph minimum to race.
Different locations throughout the globe have better racing conditions than where I am so they can get away with a lot more. Here in the NE we need AWD and sticky tires. Modded Evo's are very lethal on the street 1/4 mile because of this combo.
BTW, sick projects guys. Can't wait to see how these monster Porsches do on the mile. Hopefully they can get the power down and show the world what they're capable of.

It's not all about displacement and power. I believe aero plays a huuuuuge part! How else can you explain a 3.4L Supra revving close to 10k rpm and not in "full kill" mode on the stock getrag doing 246? The competition has no problems making the power. Heck, the Gallardos and 911s have AWD. What other explanation is out there?
