I personally dont think the porsche aerodynamic or engine displacement could come any close to them gallardo's .. there is no way you could beat that 5.2 litre displacement nor lambo's aerodynamic look when it comes to long pulls .. Once again no replacement for Displacement Period <!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" oreferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <vath o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="Picture_x0020_1" o:spid="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.6speedonline.com/get/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style='width:12pt;height:12pt;visibility:visible;m so-wrap-style:square'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:\Users\LG\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\cli p_image001.gif" o:title="rolleyes"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

What type of information do you base your comment on? The last couple of years a few 3.4liter Supras went 230mph+ and a couple 240mph+ at the TX mile.
SpunkyQ8:
u said it "couple of years ago" .. now where are those supra's standing ?? gallardo's are dominating the TX mile .. and I'm relying my info based on logic ! gallardo's are one of most aerodynamic sports cars out there with big engines and big turbo's, not to mention the unladen weight ! and the fact that they r making 1100+ to the wheels .. I am a porsche fan to the roots but lets face it how could u beat that???

Can't argue with displacement, however, I believe you are incorrect in your generalization of the Gallardo's aerodynamics. This has been independently tested at Daimler's wind tunnel facility in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, Germany.
Sport Auto 2006
Drag Coefficient testing
Daimler, Stuttgart-Untertürkheim
2007 Lamborghini Gallardo
Cd 0.34
Frontal area 1.95 meters^2
CdA 0.663
2007 Porsche 997 Turbo
Cd 0.29
Frontal area = 2.03 meters^2
CdA 0.589
There are very few cars as slippery as the Turbo. The difference in effective drag favors of the Porsche by a significant margin.

One has built motor, one stock. I say built motor + twin 37R's would do the job.

APPLES TO ORANGES! 2 very different cars. Gallardo is a NA car, Porsche you can buy turbo. Gallardo 10 cyclinder, Porsche 6. What's the point of this? Gallardo is only getting faster without TURBO, now the new superleggera is coming out. That with a turbo will crush and destroy ANYthing.

ummm, in stock form the New Turbo will beat an LP560, what else do you want. 11 seconds flat and 128mph. The LP is something like 11.4 or so. The comming TurboS will be even faster, and I suspect high 10 second 1/4 miles will be easily done. Both very fast cars.

Just for clarification, the LP560 is 6-7 seconds faster to 300 kph than the 997.2 turbo.

well, the difference is not much. There were a few this last year that might have done it had they not lost control. Oh wait, that was 996tt's. But 997tt's should be there as well. All it takes is money
