Talk Me Out of Ferrari 360
#2
We've all had this debate in our minds at one point or another.
It really depends on how you intend to drive the car. If it's a weekends only car for fun and shows...I would go F car and not think twice...but if you prefer to really drive the car on a regular basis...and be a little more "discreet" then the P car is a total winner.
Either way you will love your decision. Keep us posted!

a agree with the above post. if you're just going to put a couple thousand weekend miles on the car per year, i would go with the 360. the downside to the 360 is that it isn't very fast in a straight line, it's expensive to maintain, and it will depreciate a lot if you put some miles on it.
the turbo is better car as a daily driver or if you're going to take some long road trips. good luck with your choice.

I went through this same thing just recently and went 911TT. I paid the same as I would a 2004 360 spider, and got a car with 100 miles on it and full dealer support. I just took my whole family out in it. It would have been me + 1 kids otherwise! I did that with my Lotus Elise since '05, got a little tired of it.

Don't be fooled by the purchase price. In the Ferrari's case, it is only the tip of the iceberg. Maintenance/parts etc. are ridiculous! My neighbor is a Ferrari mechanic; he told me to stay away unless I'm willing to drop serious $$ on parts/labor etc.

I'm going to call this one out of your list:
"Maybe too "attention-getting" "
Yep. If you have an ounce of paranoia, you'll be somewhat unhappy. I coultn't take it with the Lotus, photo takers, spitters, h8ters. People surrounded the poor car and made me paranoid to take it anywhere. Check this out and multiply it X2.

Most Ferraris depreciate like crazy. Don't be fooled. As more F430s come on the market, the 360 will continue to slide. Also the old adage of everyone can afford to buy a ferrari, but only few can afford to drive it is certainly true.
