Exclusive touch, modifications which don't spoil 997TT
Just got a 997TT, 2009. Auto transmission. 3800 miles on the clock. It is US Spec.
Which mods would you advise withouy spoiling daily drivability? I own a 1000 whp BMW M3 E46 twin turbo and working on M3 as a hobby, so dont want to spoil / damage the 997 TT.
So I am not after more and more power, just what can be done, as a final exclusive touch to the car?
Software upgrade?
Better swaybars?
Exhaust system? dont want a loud car. What to do?
Different brake pads?
Or leave it as it is?
Your Opinions will be appreciated.

Coil-overs and wheels and leave the rest alone. You already have a rocket in your M3.
The P car is fantastic as is but the suspension could be better and the wheels will make it look better.

If you want to start modding definitely pick an exhaust that sounds good to you and a flash that can be supported locally. BUT, since you already have your M3 to provide adrenalin you probably don't need to go any further.

Agreed with Ruf_Turbo and Cayenne_ksa:
The triad of performance mods for Turbo:
1. Suspension (click Bilstein thread in my signature),
2. Exhaust,
3. ECU.
Of these 3, the very first thing to do is coilover, Bilstein the obvious and most popular choice. Then exhaust, and last, ECU. My best advice is to do your research here, and mod **slowly** one step at a time, and enjoy.
To me exhaust is a critical improvement, but for audio, not performance reason. Exhaust sound contributes SIGNIFICANTLY to the enjoyment of your car. A recent issue of Christophorus mentions that Porsche actually has a separate "Exhaust Sound Tuning" division in-house; no kidding. Sadly they obviously failed with the Turbo & it's been well acknowledged that the stock unit sounds terrible, one of the worst around for a sports car. The sound is best described as a loud, whiny hair-dryer LOL, so I think the exhaust system needs to go as well. http://www.rennteam.com/forum/thread...ust/page1.html
Just so happen, my car has a triad of cosmetic mods as well: wheel, exhaust tip, and front lip. Wheel is first to go; two most popular brands are HRE and Champion. My favorite at the moment is BBS Fi, by far, because of its light weight. Be careful with any company that has "Forged" in their name.

Do Most people choose Bilstein for the price? I do agree the Stock TT Suspension can seem a bit Jarring and Harsh. I see people talk about the Springs/Sways/GT3 alignment. Do people not do the sways with the coilovers?

I think coil-overs are better than just springs because the stock shocks seem to be the culprit for 'harshness'.
I ran just coil-overs for awhile and it was a much better ride but I just decided to add sways because I am starting to track the car a bit more.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of them but I would strongly suggest you have local support.
If you continue modding it becomes a PITA to ship out your DME again and again.
