SLICKNINJA, Im sure it was us. We were there for 7 hours with George. He seems like a nice guy. The interesting thing that we went in there to get a Panamera because my sister wants something bigger than her 650i vert. But after driving the Turbo she liked the it a lot. They have a new SC RR so they decided to get a Turbo cab to mix it up a bit. The color combo was nice and it has a lot of curb appeal IMO.

7 Hours!!! Ouch, that was long.

My partner purchased a Panamera Turbo and we had an opportunity to test drive it. It was NICE.

I think an 08 or 07 would get you the most bargaining room. 09 since it's only 1 year old, you have less negotiating room. And they are literally the same car with same horsepower. If you want a faster and powerful Porsche, get a 2010.

If you want a turbo, don't wait for 2011 because I don't think they are going to built one until 2013 or 14.

Personally, I like the Tip because with the Bay Area traffic, a manual won't be that useful.

PM me, we can discuss this a bit further if you like. I was shopping for a used Turbo for a while.

He can buy a PDK Turbo even now. They are building the Turbo in 2011 too. I agree with you that the 09 has less wiggle room in terms of price but it DOES have the updated PCM . If he was looking at Panamera's then comfort and ease is important.
The Tiptronic is useful in traffic but the PDK is even more useful and versatile . It is also faster and not dated.

He's simply not getting enough of a deal to make this car worthwhile at 119. Of course it's a nice car but at 119K it has to be way more than nice --it has to be perfect .. and it isn't.

Nice analysis of the PDK and Tip. I agree, PDK is much better.

According to the Porsche history, when the Turbo S is rolled out, they usually stop making Turbo for couple years. This could be wrong but few of the dealers have told me the exact same thing.

They will most likely release the 2011 new Carrera, follow by Cab and S and so forth and than Turbo. That usually take couple years.

I would like to confirm this. I have seen spied shots for the 2011 "Turbo" but there is no firm release date.
