tuner that stands behind their tune

tuner that stands behind their tune
So which porsche tuners stand behind their tune?
I'm coming from the mercedes world where I got fantastic service and warranty from Renntech. I would only do mods approved by Renntech and everything was installed by a Renntech backed store. If I blew my motor, Hartmut would take care of it.
Which porsche tuners do the same?

With that Said i know EVOMS stand behind their tunes as far as a satisfaction guarantee.. I cannot speak on their behalf as far as warranty goes though.. Being in Cali I am sure there is a dealer in your area.. Give a call over to Evoms and discuss the options to see whats best for you..
We just tuned our 997tt and picked up 70whp Peak and 110whp in midrange.. The car is night and day different and drives perfect..

well
I called sharkwerks and they said no warranty.
Hartmut is confident in the safety of his tunes. They might not be the most powerful but they are bulletproof.
Examples of renntech stepping up :
I bought 19in rims from renntech and decided that I felt that the offset in the rear was not to my liking. 6-9months later I told hartmut and he swapped them out for a set of 18s that I liked. (no charge)
I had some squeaking coming from the engine bay and my mechanic was saying that he suspected the renntech supercharger. Called Ken and he was ready to ship me a new one. Ended up just being an idler pulley but the point was no issues of Ken questioning replacement if necessary.
I straight out asked Hartmut if he would warranty the motor if it blew. He said absolutely and said he would warranty my car as long as I owned it. Renntech was still standing by their warranty years after their basic warranty had already expired.
60k+ miles on the renntech supercharger and ecu tune with no problems.

Harmut is a great guy but its very hard to assume that IF you blew the motor he would pay for it.. I would find it hard to believe Hartmut would replace motors for Mercedes knowing his tune didnt have an effect on why it blew.. Sometimes parts fail regardless of whats done, stock or modified..

hi gtsilver2010.. Evoms obviously stands behind their work. However any software/tune/flash technically does void your factory warranty. In terms of finding a software tune then goes beyond that and warranties your engine for replacement/rebuild for the entire life of your car/ownership is not something I've seen/heard of and I think that you'd be hard-pressed to find that. As far as hardware goes, EVOMS always warranties (as do we) exhausts, headers, intercoolers etc...

From first-hand I can tell you that SharkWerks and EVOMSit certainly stand behind what they sell. Is there a warranty, per se, no. There are other good Porsche tuners (I chose SahrkWerks/EVOMSit) but none that I know of who offer an engine warranty on a modified car. And, by the way, there are no undetectable tunes.
I don't know RennTech, but unless they provide a written warranty, there really is no warranty.

Bulletproof they are not unfortunately.. I have 2 friends that work at 2 different Merc Dealers.. 1 of which is there 11 years, both have seen less than bulletproof.. Remember Renntech is around the corner from us.. A great company, ill leave it at that.. Not bulletproof..

Either way, you can't go wrong with a Sharwerks/Evoms combo. They are as reputable as they come and they do stand behind their work and products...

Unfortunately, loss of warranty (on the engine) is the cost of doing business in this field, so you should understand the risk. If there is a problem, you are on your own in front of the dealership/PNA trying to get them to cover the issue.
On the bright side, there have been no blown engines resulting from software upgrades. At least not to my knowledge.
Having said that, I chose EVOMS based on references and perceived reputation.

Ruf is the only tuner that will warranty your entire engine, plus the car can be serviced at any porsche dealer. If i was doing it again, i would have just sent the car down to dallas in the beginning.

IMO, Renntech is tremendously expensive and big, big margins are built into their products. I do hear they have terrific customer service, but doubt they'd pay for a blown motor without having some significant diligence done. I too came from the MB world -- most recently on a C63 AMG tuned through KLEEMANN (~520 hp). Although a KLEEMANN tuned car with a tick slower than Renntech, their tunes did not push the envelope (meaning the car ran a little on the rich vs. lean side), etc. Their cost/performance/tuning strategy ratios met my requirements for something fast, but relatively safe.
You may be surprised at having a mod friendly dealer by you. One of my local Porsche dealers was mod friendly as long as they did the install and approved the vendors. My 997 turbo went to 650 HP through a GIAC tune and AWE components. But even so, one can never be 100% certain warranty will be covered until it's covered.

This is one reason I went with a Ruf conversion, they stand behind their work. Basically it's a 1 year warranty on the engine conversion, but you get a lifetime of goodwill, Ruf treats their clients very well. I'm coming up on my one year anniversary and the car has been fantastic.
