Need New Tires-Suggestions Please
My OEM Pirelli P Zero tires are due to be replaced. I always felt that they were noisy. They have developed some cupping too which is a little strange. They have always been balanced and pressure maintained and never used at the track. They only have about 10,000 miles on them but the cupping has caused a highway hum that is intolerable so I must replace them.

For the money I bought a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...12_evo_page_10) - I like them and they can't be beat for the price point. When they wear out I'm going to try a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Potenza+RE-11).

How will you be using your car? You are probably not driving in the snow, but would you drive it on a non-snow day in the cooler winter months? Warm summer months only? Rain and dry or just dry weather?

I have Nitto Invo's and it feels good to me. I dont push the car that hard in corners to really see any differance. For what it is worth though, A good friend of mine uses the same tire on his 500whp Zo6 and says they are many times better than the goodyears it came with.

have always used PS2 but just put on RE-11 today. I've read multiple reports that say they give better dry grip than ps2's and as good in the rain. they are also much cheaper. only downside is that they are heavy. to be honest, i didn't feel that extra weight driving home today LOL.

On the tirerack site below, check out the weights of the tires, (as Chris/E55AMG mentioned) some of the tires like the RE-11 are REALLY heavy, and tire being the outer border, it's the worst place that you want to gain weight.
This topic has been discussed many times before, but to make the long story short, moment of inertia is worse the further out you are in the wheel. Heaviness at the rim periphery will affect braking, acceleration, and steering much worse than if the weight is towards center. Whether a driver could feel it or not could be debated, but the effect is there.
Michelin Cup: front 20 rear 27
Pirelli Corsa: front 21 rear 26
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11: front 27 rear 32 (A near 30% weight gain in front!!)

Goodyear hasn't had a good year in quite a while now.

N rated cups are the best, better traction than N corsas by far. But if you never track your car, then they are a waste. The RE11s give great all around traction, in between a cup and a ps2. They are a little heavier, thats the only catch, but nobody here is such a great driver that they'll even notice the weight on the track.
Keep in mind N cups are not the same as real cups, which will last no more than 2k miles on the street, and could never drive in the rain. Real ones are softer and don't have an added rain groove as I recall.

+1. I'll see how long they last on this set and then decide if I'll use them full-time for street as well as track.
