Just for clarification, that's Hans Dahlback's GT2... does not have a sequential gearbox...it has a sequential shifter (SQS Racing/Cartronic and then Oakley Design.)

 

He has a nice one too. How does he eat up that LP? Mods?

 

Are we talking about a true sequential gearbox or a sequential adapter for a traditional manual transmission. If it is the former, I respectfully disagree.

On a true sequential gearbox, the clutch is available for taking off in first gear and for launching from a dead stop. On a Cup car you need to use the clutch to engage 1st gear than you just bang through the gears with your foot to the floor. Downshifting requires the use of a clutch. PDK is not faster than a true sequential.

Clearly, we would not use a true sequential on a daily driver, as you'd be rebuilding the box every 20-30 hours of use.

 

I think that car had an ECU tune, exhaust, roll cage, weight loss, lighter wheels, and a Cartronic shifter.
