Removing overspeed alarm ?

When speeding over 120 KM/H the overspeed alarm shouts and never stops . It is so annoying, This is a 2010 911 PDK Turbo. Unlike my 2009 911 turbo 6 speed where i never faced such an issue.

The dealer said just bring the car in and we will remove it, I prefer doing it alone if its a touch of a button.

It would be greatly appreciated if anybody can help .

It is not touch of button.
It needs to be programmed through the PIWIS tool at the Porsche dealership or any other workshop that has the tool.
In Kuwait, you also have to sign a waiver for the dealership saying that it was done at your request with no responsibility on their part, because this violates traffic department regulations.
Hope this helps.

Could it just be in the Set, Limits function (push forward lower left column stalk)? One of the options is to set an alarm when you go over a certain set speed. It can be activated or deactivated as well as setting the speed limit to alarm...at least on my car.

You tried this? Does it simply change the alarm speed or you were able to cancel the overspeed alarm altogether?

You can set an alarm speed, and then activate it, or deactivate it completely. I believe every time I look at it the default speed is whatever speed I am traveling because mine is deactivated. Once activated you will get the alarm any time you go over that set limit unless you then deactivate it, which is also listed as an option.

Take a look, because it could be different if your country requires it, but it wouldn't surprise me if the dealer just uses the SET, LIMITS, function to activate the speed alarm.

Reason I ask is that I already enquired with the dealer here and they clearly told me it is not a user adjustable thing. It has to be done by PIWIS. Maybe it is a Kuwait thing?
This pertains to 2010 TT.

If it's not possible to do it yourself you will have to depend on someone with PIWIS -OR- possibly someone with the new Durametric software.

I would have thought the P dealer would have had a bit more common sense to allow a car like this to be delivered with a 120kph limmit/alarm active. You'd think it would have been done automatically in the pre delivery process and become merely an obligatory sign off upon collection (if it was preprogrammed by PAG to comply with country law).

I'd firstly check through the system settings as i know exactly what Ruf is referring to with this function. Its not too difficult to do .

I thought the world was full of 911TT owning people who bought these cars for the ride comfort and ability to absorb rough road surfaces when gently cruising at comfortable strolling pace of 60 MPH. Why, I can think of no other reason, can you?

I'll check this as soon as I take delivery and report back.
