BBS CH R wheels
#3
There is a thread in the 997 NA forum IIRC and they look very nice. From what I read there is a Polished lip protector that is replacable! They are also very similiar to the Avant Garde wheels.

I think they look really really good and might provide a bit of a change from the P40s.
For the price they are bound to be strong, slightly lighter weight than stock (from what I understand) and manufactured and sold by very reputable companies.
Am I missing something???

Thinking about a set for track rims. The porsche mesh center lock wheels are also cast, also BBS. BBS uses a casting technique that is actually pretty strong.
Does the BBS F1 also accept porsche centercaps?

Can you PM pricing for ball polished F1's, 997T fitment.
For track wheels you should consider reducing unsprung weight, maybe even step down to 18's if you are steel rotor.
We have BBS CH-R wheels in stock, in both Brilliant Silver and Black finishes. The lone exception is the 12x19" rear wheel for the 997 Carrera 4, 4S and Turbo, which is on backorder in the Brilliant Silver finish, they are available in black. This wheel is an excellent alternative to the 1-piece forged wheels, BBS quality at a lesser price. These wheels will accept a Porsche Factory center cap, as shown in the attached photo of a set of the CH-R Black wheels on a new Boxster Spyder.
We also have a set of 8.75x19" and 12x19" ultra lightweight BBS FI 1-piece forged wheels available in Gloss Black for both Porsche 997 widebody and Ferrari F430 applications.
Please contact us if you have any questions regarding fitment or pricing.

Yeah, I'm in no position to state this as a fact, but to me it looks like BBS IS the manufacturer of the new OEM center lock mesh wheels. They certainly look very similar to the CHR.
The link below also has Porsche giving BBS an award as their number one supplier for 2010.

OEM like quality and slightly less weight than factory 997.1 wheels for a pretty reasonable price seems interesting as long as you are a fan of the mesh design (which I am).
