As other suggested, try to get a change of address. I'm 29, with no tickets in last 3 years (got 5 tickets during 2003 in my 3series). I pay $1,500 for a Florida policy at my parents' vacation house address. Florida has no inspections, as well. I was considering straight pipes before I got my cargraphic exhaust.

You've made sure they know it won't be driven to work right? Tell them you'll be taking public transportation and that should lower it.

good luck.

33 in NY, 07 turbo paying over $2200 per year with Geico for full coverage with 300/300 BI limits, $500 deductible, $100,000 in PD. Placed a call to the aforementioned Classic Car Insurance and waiting back for an application as I was quoted 1600 for the year with the same exact limits as I have with Geico

i'm 28 years old and single with 2 speeding tickets and 1 careless driving in the last 4 years.

i'll be purchasing the car outright - does anyone have any suggestions of who to call!??!

the car would be garaged in NYC and driven lightly... thank you!!!

wow, that is a staggering amount. I honestly would have to think about whether I would want to swallow a bill like that every year.

How often are you going to drive it? might be cheaper to join one of the exotic car clubs like vulcan or something like that.

crazy thing is, even if i bought a cherokee or something like that it would only reduce my premium by around a thousand dollars or so...

Sounds like you got put in the "assigned risk" pool. Unfortunately, no way around this except the passage of time and a clean driving record. That's why I would ALWAYS fight any tickets in court.

This should have any bearing on you if you can pay cash. I have a twenty year old daughter. Couple years ago she lived with me and the insurance on her 2006 Honda Civic was $850 per year. She moved back to her mothers who had filed bankruptcy and had bad credit the cost went to $2400 per year due to her credit.
If you have bad credit the insuarance company assumes you are a higher risk.

A couple of normal speeding tickets won't do that at all. My good friend is my age (28) and has at least 5 tickets in the last 4 years and pays not THAT much more than I do for a 996 turbo. (he doesn't understand how to not get caught...)

is there something else? DWI? Doesn't careless driving count the same as a DWI? I had read that somewhere I believe. If so, its the careless driving, not the tickets.

And i can't imagine a honda civic would be 8500 a year for insurance.

Buy a piece of crap DD get Liability only with biggest ded. you can risk. The get collector car insurance on your Porsche. If I am right all you have to have is a DD and use your Porsche as a Toy. I think that would save you some bucks enough to pay for DD in one year. I think Haggard insurance or some name like that has something similar to what I am talking about. I considered it till I got a quote from State Farm saw it advertised on Speed Channel.

2 minor speedings (less than 5mph) 1 15-20 mph over and a careless driving which was me at a red light in left lane - it turned green, i went and went to the middle lane without signaling... thats the extent of my "careless driving".

absolutely no dwi or any criminal activity and my credit is perfect. just bad luck with my fast cars, e46 m3 convertible for a couple years, m6 coupe for a couple then i got the R8 which i am trading in for the Turbo S... i should really just walk for the next 3 years.

i gave them a vin # for my jeep cherokee which isnt under my name and they said it wouldnt go down around 1200-1500 dollars.
