absolutely no dwi or any criminal activity and my credit is perfect. just bad luck with my fast cars, e46 m3 convertible for a couple years, m6 coupe for a couple then i got the R8 which i am trading in for the Turbo S... i should really just walk for the next 3 years.

i gave them a vin # for my jeep cherokee which isnt under my name and they said it wouldnt go down around 1200-1500 dollars.
I feel for ya I am speechless. Those tickets are not good but not Worthy of your insurance cost. Must be your area. Too many liberals you figure if you can afford a Turbo S you can pay to help the needy get cheap insurance.

I hope I dont get hit like that when I get my Turbos

nah its got nuthin to do with liberals actually.

when I lived in NY, I actually had to insure my busas in NJ - cuz they wanted $5k yr FOR A BIKE!!

Its the region, age and his less than flawless driving record.

pay to play yo! pay 2 play.

the one thing i miss about back east are the PBA cards. If you're gonna drive fast - ya gotta have dem PBA cards..

sadly no such luck in Cali.

Sounds like you've run into some hardcore cops. They gave you tickets for going 5 mph over the speed limit? Usually they don't write people up unless it's 10+ mph over.

I am 52, no tickets and I pay $1300 a year here in Southern California with ALLSTATE. My insurance is discounted for having 2 other cars under the same policy and I have my Turbo rated at 5000 miles a year, instead of the regular 12-15,000 that most insurance co's rates are based on. The Turbo is a weekend car only so I saved some $ with the lower miles coverage.

Did you ever find something else?

I'm 24, live in Manhattan but put the insurance is under my dad's name with me as an authorized driver..pay less than $2000 per year (I've also had 3-4 tickets speeding tickets!)

i dont know what it is but they have a mark on me... i WAS on dad's policy but they threatened to terminate his unless i got my own policy - which i did... $10,400 for 12 months.. i know, it's insane.

just picked up the Turbo S last night and have been driving all day today... LOVE it, insurance be damned

Keep shopping around for insurance. You sure you get the highest deductible you can afford. And for quotes, tell them you're driving the car 2K or 3K miles per year. Try going back to court to see if you can get the careless driving charged dropped or reduced.

Fyi to you guys with progressive, geico, allstate. If you wreck your brand new porsche and there are aftermarket or used parts available, thats what you will be getting.

So you may be saving a few bucks now, but they are the ones who will be saving if you wreck your car.

I worked for progressive for 3 years, now that i know whats the correct way, i cant believe the things they told me!!

Thankfully, that was 8 years ago i currently work for travelers and they make sure we are trained properly and with continuing education we only write to fix it correctly or not at all.

geico, all state, liberty mutual, state farm - none of them will touch the car.

i'm 28 years old and single with 2 speeding tickets and 1 careless driving in the last 4 years.

i'll be purchasing the car outright - does anyone have any suggestions of who to call!??!

the car would be garaged in NYC and driven lightly... thank you!!!
$10,400 insurance quote for the year from progressive!!!!!!?????????

Either get it registered by a corporation, or register to someone else preferably outside of NY/NJ area.
