DIY: Swapping the 997.1TT taillights to the newer 997.2TT LED taillights on my Turbo!

Great narrative and wonderful conversion Jason. I wondered where you've been hiding. One question - why does a repair shop have an entire skid of beer in it? You must have thrown a heck of a party for these guys.

Nope, as I mentioned in my post, everything was working great when we finally got things put back together correctly. Prior to that, we'd have rapidly flashing turn signals, warning lights up the wazoo, etc.
Duffy, good hearing from you. I haven't been hiding..just haven't been to these parts much. I stick mainly to the NW section on here these days unless I have something truly spectacular to share with you folks such as this mod for one thing. And...well, one of the contractors had a whole bunch of beer pallets so everyone in the area got some. I got a few boxes myself too.

Please allow me to make a quick DIY from yours, but first thanks to make it clear such a requested mod in this forum.
Parts for 07-08:
Taillights - $400 each
Front and rear control modules - $350 each
Make it work:
1. Cut a little bit of plastic tabbing from the LED taillights to work with the wiring harness
2. Install front and rear control modules to get option in the PIWIS to turn the LED mode on. Swap in the rear module the pins from #42 to 31.
3. Done, ready, no warning or flashing lights, big smile, enjoy your leds...

I recently had this upgrade done after an accident. I wish the shop I used paid attention to detail like yours did. I still have to sort out a few issues.. Amazing write up and the car looks great. Cobalt is the best color
