With the DFI engine, i would not want to change my cats.
I have seen first hand the amount of black carbon building up on exhaust tips of 997.2tt's that have gone for full exhaust exchange.
WC-GT (GMG) seem to be the only ones so far to manufacture a system without cats
BUT..a-Would that non-titanium model be heavier than the OEM? b-i haven't heard of anyone who have tested it or recommended it. c-they dont have a sound file on their website (either too confident that its good, or they have not installed it yet) We still need to hear a sound file even if it doesn't do justice to the real thing.
to add to the worry, i have heard from more than one source that the only exhaust that delivers the maximum power from the new DFI TT engine is the OEM exhaust.
what i don't understand is why didn't porsche offer the GT2 exhaust as an option for the TT? wouldn't that have made the world a better place?
i too am not looking for more horse power form an exhaust change. i just want a more aggressive note WITHOUT losing 1% of power.

Answer:
The factory unit is not titanium and our units saves over 50% off the weight of the stock muffler.
Our system is modular like the factory system and we do offer high flow sport catalyst for those who are looking for that option.
We felt its best to make system that could upgraded at a later date and you weren't forced to purchase a complete system from the beginning.
This also gives the end user the comfort of not having to worry about emissions compliance and warranty issues. Our system is 50 state Smog legal..

Answer:
Just because you didn't hear about it doesn't mean that there aren't satisfied customers with our product.
In this particular case the first system was built for Barrier Porsche, they actually sent us a stock system which we tested, analyzed and found the restrictions in the factory system. We also worked with our resources at Porsche AG and Porsche Motorsport to see what the best solution was to improve the performance while maintaining factory like reliability. We engineered our system the way we did based on the data we collected.

I guess it is a matter of confidence, the first system was sent to a Porsche dealer and installed on the clients car.
We have not had an opportunity to record a sound clip and frankly no matter how hard you try you simply cannot duplicate the real sound through a computer. I can however tell you that the sound is very similar to our 997.1 WC-GT system, which in itself sounds Carrera GT esq. As soon as we have a car at our facility we will record a HD video with sound and will certainly post it up.

Answer: Yes your probably correct to say that many of the aftermarket systems on the market today do not offer a performance advantage.
Our system is not one of them.
I can tell you that the factory system does have a restriction in the muffler. We do offer a high flow sport catalyst for those who are seeking additional power, however as many of our clients and 98% of turbo owners do not wish to compromise any warranties we elected to offer a modular system that could later be upgraded if they so desired. Answer:
The GT2 engine is different, although it shares the same architecture there would be no point in selling a GT2 exhaust on a car that carries a 60-90k lower price point. The GT2 system is tuned for the GT2 engine and its characteristics there is no reason it would make power on a 997TT engine.

Do your research there are many companies out there that make some pretty far fetched claims.. The ONLY exhaust i would EVER consider for this car is a Europipe. email stef@europipe.be These guys exhausts deliver a power you can actually notice whilst not destroying the interior sound levels. The more aggressive note you seek is an added bonus and also hard to beat. I know Stef was developing a system for the 997tt.2 and it may well be ready now. Dont miss it!! If its anything like what he made for the 997tt.1 it will be brainsnappingly good. You mentioned the fear of changing the OEM cats. If you see Europipes cats alongside the OEMs you will fear no longer as they make the OEM's look inferior (as they are).

The more aggressive note you seek is an added bonus and also hard to beat. I know Stef was developing a system for the 997tt.2 and it may well be ready now. Dont miss it!! If its anything like what he made for the 997tt.1 it will be brainsnappingly good. You mentioned the fear of changing the OEM cats. If you see Europipes cats alongside the OEMs you will fear no longer as they make the OEM's look inferior (as they are).

thanks speed21 for your input. i think soon we are going to see many manufacturers coming up with new solutions. Many 997.2tt are rolling out daily and the demand on upgraded mufflers is growing.
I agree that a lightweight exhaust wont deliver a noticeable difference. All i wanted is nothing that was heavier than the OEM, and Fabryce explained his portion nicely.
Personally, i wouldnt change my cats yet. I have seen whats out there and nothing promising! That is why Fabryce system is interesting. They went modular. they know what to offer at what period in time... simple as that.

I agree with not changing anything at this point in time.
There are only a few products out on the market now and none of them have been proven in day to day use yet.
Many more to come I'm sure as time goes by which will also make the pricing more competitive.

The way EP manufactures their product and packages it with all the items required for install (including the specialist tools) is to my best knowledge "second to none" and instills a confidence with the buyer they have indeed gone to the utmost lengths in developing a system they say they have.
Now (Gtsilver2010) if there is another company out there that does that then please let me know. It's always nice to have options.
Frankly for the high prices asked for many of these sytems, installation instructions and all necessary items required for the instal should be part of every aftermarket exhaust manufacturers package yet they are not. You can also have issues where certain systems do not fit exactly as they should, requiring certain modification and adjustments.
You wont get this problem with EP as the manufacturing quality and detail shades even the OEM system. And, when stef has his 997tt.2 system ready for sale i have no doubt it will deliver to your every expectation.
If you have doubts on changing cats you are obviously a fussy person concerned with what you put on your expensive new 911
.And, Gtsilver 2010 i would definately recommend you NOT to buy a Europipe. Its not the right one for you my friend
