garage door opener

Hey guys, took delivery of my TT today but I was so excited about taking delivery I forgot to make sure there was an owners manual in it. Turns out there wasn't so I will have to see if they will give me one.

Anyways, without that I couldn't figure out how to program the garage door openers. Can anyone help me out?

Also, I have the phone module as an option. How does that work? Does the sound actually come through the speakers? It's not bluetooth correct? Just pop the sim card into the pcm?

Thanks in advance for your help!

BTW, its an 08'.

I had no problem doing it with my older garage door openers. I'm putting on new ones with "rolling" codes so I hope the programming is easy enough. I don't have my manual here with me so can't be more specific about how to do it, but let me know if you want me to check it.

Rolling code has to be done at the garage door so you can sync the opener with the homelink. Should you have any problems once you get the directions, I have always found it helpful to go on the Homelink web site.

Programming rolling code garage door openers

For rolling code garage door opener:

Hold down the garage door homelink button in the vehicle until the LCD flashes sequentially. Go to the garage door opener and press the "learn" button on the unit. Within 30 seconds, go to the vehicle and press and hold the homelink button again, until your garage opener overhead light flashes. Your car and opener should now be synched.

Repeat process with remaining car homelink buttons for additional doors.

Hope this helps. The car manual is not too clear about programming rolling code openers.

Called the Dealer and was told my TT didn't come with a manual and that I'd have to order a new one from parts with my own money. Funny how you are treated after the sale...

anyways, no point for me to head over to the dealer so I found this.. thanks ron

I'll try it later when I get home. I didn't realize the homelink transmitter was located in the front bumper of the car...

I too found the manual wasn’t specific on rolling codes… I got my gate to work fine but not my garage. Followed the directions in the manual. The fog lights flashed as the manual stated when synced but the homelink button in the car doesn’t open the garage door. Could it be the garage door opener has the rolling code feature?

Sounds like it, check http://www.eurohomelink.com/PDF-Down...sanleitung.pdf for the directions on how to sync with garage doors with rolling codes

It may help to clear the codes, especially if someone has previously put codes in the system. Then start over again. To clear codes hold the buttons down until the led lights flash.

I got new garage openers installed and only had to clear the old opener codes, then hold the new remote opener near the Homelink button in the car and press the remote button, then take the remote out to the front bumper and press the remote button until the fog lights flashed. The transmitter is located midway between the center of the bumper and the right hand side. The manual says it may take up to forty seconds before the fog lights flash
