8000K HID headlamps

Has anyone tried 8000K D1s low beam bulbs for your TT? I am not a big fan of any temperature higher than 6000k, but I am curious what color would match my Hoen DLEDs. I think these are slightly higher than 6000K - perhaps 7000K???

There is significant reduction in light intensity as you increase in K.

I elected for Philips Ultinons which match Hoen's LED bulbs pretty nicely.

Incidentally, not all 6000K mean the color is the same. After going through multiple brands, bulbs, etc. I found some 6000Ks to shine like 8000K, some to shine more like 4300K. Ultimately, the Phillips works well.

Ultinons for sure, oem quality and not a crap shoot with misc. brand 6000k which often run way too purple or blue or somewhere in between. Note the bulb should be D2S I thought?

You guys are amazing - thank you for the replies. I saw D1S from Sylvania application site??? Can someone please confrim fitment for 2008?

bbywu - you are right on about different color per each manufacturer - I had hacked Ultinon a number of years ago and I thought it looked more close to low 5000K vs 6000K. I got some cheaper 6000K from another place and I could have sworn it looked more like 8000K...

Do Ultinon's have enough blue to match with new generation of Hoen DLEDs?

Thanks

The bulbs I bought start off with a purple blue hue until they are warmed up, then are a very bright white. I wish I could photograph it for you. They are about a 90% match...not perfect, but the closest match I could find after going through at least 4 different bulb manufacturers.
