I could be way off base but, based on the ignition angle, it looks like the ECU is fighting to keep the motor together.

Whoa, hope not.
I will log knock tomorrow to see if the timing is being pulled because of it.

Any other parameters that I need to log?

Thanks

I would add IAT, EGT and lambda from both banks & have Scott S. take a look. There is some good data at the end of the "best 997GT2 intercooler" thread on the "technical" forum.

Edit: The logs I mentioned are in this thread (posts 5 & 13) https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...un-6speed.html

Edit Edit:

Here's your ignition angle graphically:

I will add IAT and EGT to the run tomorrow and if I can add lamda 2 without freezing Durametric.

Thank you for taking time to graph and pointers.

Your timing is being pulled due to knocking. The high ambient temp is not helping. I would not datalog again until you deplete your tank of 93 and put in the highest octane you can get your hands on, preferably ms109.

I agree.

Youre running 1.4 bar boost there. Are you running that kind of boost on 93/91 octane?

That timing curve would scare the sh*t out of me.

In my logs, if I see a drop from lets say 20 degrees to 18 degrees (just 2 degrees) under full load in the middle of the RPM band I get all bent out of shape.

If you are running 93 octane, I would definetely turn the boost down to 14 psi (or 1 bar) and see what your timing curve looks like.

You are running boost pressures that should ONLY be run with race fuel.

Keith

Earl,TTDude,Keith etc

Did another pull and logged additional parameters IAT and EGT.
Ambient Temp was 39*C. I have attached the log for your review.

Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

I am no expert but your timing is really off the charts under load, it definatly does not look happy. After 6k rpms your fuel does not look good, and your boost is not consistent either. i would contact your tuner and get a revision. Try doing a pull at 1 bar and see how your timing reacts.

^ Good move! As soon as the boost is in, the timing is all over the place, likely trying to stave off detonation. The AFR also trends rich up top, yet inconsistently so. I'm no 997 expert but, generally speaking, you want to see relative low (but stable) timing through peak torque, then gradually increasing as rpm climbs beyond peak torque (as cylinder pressures drop).

Yeah, not much difference from the last one. Timing is really being pulled under load and boost. Get some better fuel in there and relog.

I never go below 98 octane, and usually prefer 99 octane, even in my normal road cars. We dont even get fuel here below 95.

I will put MS109 race gas today and datalog.

LA8Apex link on "Technical Data On Flashes" is a real eye opener, thanks.

TTDude have been able to datalog? and does your timing look good on Protomotive tune?
