second things the 997tt ECU will adjust it self for the octan level by it self (thats what i found on my tunr from Todd K.)

To keep your engine cool, i'm with you on that.

Milou
Run you car with empty methanol inj. tank and datalog the IAT and the timing, run it couple runs and read those values, after that add methanol to the system and redo the same test and datalog the IAT and the timing again you will see what the methanol will do for you.

with the hot weather the IAT will reach 100c degree and as i know around 65 or 70 degree the ECU start pull timing means you will see lost of power, the methanol inj if tuned correctly will keep the IAT under 50 degree so your engine is cool and you will not loose the power.

Hope this will help to understand some of the good things that the methanol Inj. can do.

im not sure i understand what your asking here.

The ecu will adjust for octane levels by itself with race gas, BUT for meth injection you NEED a tune regardless. you can not just slap on the meth inj. and go about your way.

and we have the same tuner.

If you are runing 93 pumpgas do you think the methanol inj. will increase the octan to the same level as 103 or M109 VP racing fuel? I don't think so.

If you look in the AEM kit, it says to never run more then a 60/40 meth/water mix. Full meth is dangerous and explosive As far as Softronic goes and the OP, if you are running pump 93oct and spraying a water meth mix, it will raise the octane level allowing you to run higher boost to reduce knock. That is the point of the water meth kit. You do not need a seperate tune.

The timing values you can see with MS109 or 93+100% meth are the same. So, yes it's the same level

When we ran at the Texas Mile at 1.6bar using 109oct, we sprayed the water/meth as a safety for any detonation as we were pushing the car.

LOL , well my friend you should try doing your research cuase you have no idea what you are talking about .

but to awnser your question , its YES. and depending on mixture even more !

on my boys car on 93 hr can run 1 bar with his turbos . after his aquamist setup , he can run 1.4 bar , why is that do you think ? hm......

on my evo , the same ....

on HPF moster turbos m3's the same ...

its a great , much cheaper alternative to race gas .im having mine installed shortly cuase i like to be able to run people on the fly with highboost, not wait i have to go home and dump in 109 , drive it for 15 miles , wait for the ecu to adapt then run...

I have an Aquamist kit spraying 100% meth. It both increases octane AND cools IAT's. I believe the meth is actually getting me almost a full A/F point. My injector duty cycle has gone down with the addition of the meth, with increased boost. I am only at 1.3bar (1.4 in the cooler weather). My car WILL make more power on race gas, at the same boost level, but not much more. I think I made less than 15whp more on race (with 50/50) than I did with 93pump and 100% meth. To me it wasn't worth the extra expense of driving around wasting race gas 80% of the time. All in all I picked up approx 70whp with the additon of the meth kit and EPL's tune for it, with no other changes. I also still have stock piping , IC's, MAF and airbox. Dyno's are subjective, but on EPL's Mustang dyno, I am right about 600rwhp. My 60-130 and trap speed is in my sig. I do have about 200+lbs of weight loss mods too.

The AEM kit is a bit cheap, can you post some pics of your kit?

thx

Cheap? The Aquamist is overkill LOL. The AEM kit works off a set boost pressure and sprays when activated. It also has built in safety warnings too. Sure you can get the HFS6 unit with cool gauge, special programming etc for $900, but the AEM kit does the job just as good.

AEM tank and pump -

Spray Nozzles in YPipe -

Activation Switch -

How is having a gauge to watch flow and a couple of built in safeties overkill exactly? and activation switch??? For what?
