just brought my car to the dealer. they looked at it, and placed the order for a new steering wheel immediately. no hassle. and it's not because they knew about this problem. they haven't encountered it before, but they after looking at it, they know it needs to be taken care of. and on a $160k car, these things should be fixed perfectly and quickly. hopefully i didn't jinx myself and it comes in without a problem.

finally, a few people mentioned it feels better? what's that about? i assume it's the same specs.

It will look the same except with the clear windows! It just amazes me that they would sell these $160-170k cars with the misting issues...and that it would pass the quality check...

Two weeks after showing my dealer the defective wheel, I now have a brand new one. Looks great (assuming it will keep looking great and not mist like the last one). Amazing how a little thing like that really stands out once you notice the imperfection, and how nice it is when you get the new one.

When did you get your S? Mine is due next month and I am hoping that this issue would have been corrected before my car was produced?

They have been replacing these for a few months, so if yours is just getting built, i'm sure it has the new corrected wheel.

After 10 wks I just dug it out of the snow and went for a ride. Can't believe that I was ever interested in a sls!

I'd like to replace my wheel and is there a Service Bulletin #, or something else that I can give the service dept when I call.

This is Massachusetts and the dealers are not quite up to "speed".
