Some systems I tried before Europipe droned so badly that they were driving me out of my f*ing mind. Europipe drones about as bad as the stock system, which is acceptable and worthy of a car of this caliber.

It sounds even better now after 3,000 miles... I just couldn't be happier.

Alex, did you get the stage 1 or 2?
Stef mentioned droning in his website with the stage 2, that spooked me I'll admit. Went with the EP1.

TTSurgeon,

I got EP1. The car isn't particularly loud but you definitely know there is something cool coming your way when you hear it. It's very Porsche... Subtle, quality and performance oriented.

And good news as the sound of our new 997.2 TT exhaust is nicer than the sound of all our previous Turbo exhausts.
More info later on.

Can't wait to hear some sound clips. The louder the better and I don't mind "drone" at all.

Perhaps you guys can make something in full Titanium?

Stock tips but modified by Europipe for larger diameter opening (Stage 2). Find someone who ceramic coats - much better than paint.

+1

Not so sure about the quiet part. My neighbors love me.....not
Especially first thing in the morning on cold start.

EP2 will be right for you

There are many options depending on which look you like. I use the tech art 8's. They fit like a glove. It all comes done to personal preference.

Stef does ceramic coating. I had the ceramic coated (black'ish) stock looking, but larger as I have an EP2 and changed them out to 3.5" round tips that Stef made.

I've got a catless EP2 on my 996tt. The sound is just glorious. Its a very deep growl with the turbo's whistling very noticeably mixed in (enhanced turbo whistle is from no cats I would think though, so they won't be as noticeable with a EP2 with cats -- and mine was modded to be catless, EP does not make catless pipes, just 100 cell). On the EP2, there is a little drone in 3rd and 4th gear if you are slowing accelerating or cruising (especially uphill) in the 2300-2800 rpm band). I don't notice it at all in 1st, 2nd, or 5th gear on the highway at all (I have a tiptronic). Its not an annoyance to me, but it is definately there. Easiest way to avoid the drone is to shift down a gear to get out of that RPM range or just go faster .

Everyday I seriously look forward to the cold start and listening to it idle for a minute before I drive off. Can't recommend EP2 Loud pipe enough!

Thanks to all who helped me out and a big thank to speed21!
After 130km drive today in city and freeway. I gotta say this exhaust system is unique to me. The sound is not " loud " and it is not " quiet ". It is a perfect balance and growl is there. It growls more after 3k rpm and now I am getting more to like my turbos spools up. Some what I feel the exhaust sounds better from the outside??? Fit and finish is nice. Stef is a very nice guy to deal with and overall i think I made the right choice. I just can't wait to drive my tt more and more on open roads! I also can't wait to go into tunnels and rev this baby up!!!
I think it would be nice if it came with europipe decals.
