TPMS interference?

When I was driving at about 50mph in my TT and a buddy of mine came driving alongside me with hit Cayenne TurboS suddenly my Tire Pressure Monitoring System gave an fault message
Could the be due to the signals from his wheels interfering with mine? (He did not get a fault in his car)
I remember a while back when we went to pick up a second set of wheels and loaded them into the trunk of his Cayenne, his TPMS also could not cope with the presence of the 4 addional pressure sensors in the vicinity.
