19" or 20" Wheels?

Siglo Man...I don't care for silver cars but dang man your car is BAD to da BONE.
Excellent Choice of Wheels, Excellent Springs I give you a perfect +10 buddy!
Subtle change up looks good with the ceramics. Any tint on the car? Any shot of this beauty in sunlight instead of garage??

Cannga,
Thanks for the practical info...it was the picture of your ride that has me thinking twice about the 20's and the simple fact that the additional weight will make a difference. I do see how the style of the 19" P40 wheel can give the aggresive look and that look on your car is perfect. How would you describe your ride quality compared to stock? What others mods have you done?

On a scale of 1 to 10 for suspension/ride stiffnes, if stock Turbo normal mode is 1, and stock GT3 is 10, then a Bilstein Turbo is around 6-7. In other words it's still comfortable and still not even close to GT3 (I've driven, pretty hard, all of 997 variations: C2, C2S, GT3, GT2, Turbo.). IMHO Stock 997.1 Turbo's suspension was a mistake by Porsche -- way too soft -- and they did acknowledge this design flaw indirectly by the change they made to 997.2 Turbo (stiffer spring and sway bar).
Other mods in my car: see my signature. Besides Bilstein, pay particular attention to Cargraphic: powerful, punchy, and beautiful low frequency V8-like purr that's rarely heard from Porsche flat 6.

Sorry about that last question....I was checking the thread via the mobile site which does not show signatures....I should have waiting until I got back to my laptop. I hate to get off thread but the exhaust is high on my list as well. I want throatier noise but with not too much increase in volume...at least not inside. Thinking about EP based on other comments and videos; I have only personally heard a SpeedART 200 cell cat system so it's a very tough decision. A very personal decision I gather. I am off tomorrow to ride in a 997 TT with 20" HRE, H&R lowering springs and above exhaust but I am feeling more like I am going to go for with the 19" P40's w/out lowering the car at first then decide how I like the look on stock springs.

A lowered car will make the stock one look like a truck -- simply put, lower is better. The "strange" thing is even as little as 10mm is noticeable, and 20mm looks fantastic, especially in the front! Besides weight reduction, lowered height is one of those mods that is unconditionally better for car's handling, so this is a move for more than esthetic reason alone. Good luck and have fun with your car.
Remember also that a coilover will give you a lot more freedom as to how much you want to lower. By the time you figure in the labor charge (about 800-1000 for both I think, with alignment), the cost between lowering springs and coilover might be more tolerable than expected.

My car has silver P40. I had a picture of same red car like mine except wheel is P40 with brushed aluminum finish but sorry somehow I just couldn't find it anymore.
How the 2 are different: Brushed is a little more shiny, more bling factor; silver is more subdued and exactly like stock. The surface of brushed, of course, has little streaks on it. The closest I could think of, if you don't find any to look at locally, is the brushed nickle finish of bathroom fixture (don't mean anything disparaging by this).
Outside of my own personal preference (prefer silver regardless), I would tend to think brushed, because it's more shiny, works better with more subdued color like grey, or black, or even white.

I have seen many photos of brushed as well getting my hands on a wheel to look at and my concern was also that is will be too bling for an arctic silver car; nice for white or black. They offer a tinted clear coat for the brushed wheel (see image below with a sample of the tinted clear coat against a brushed wheel. The right side of the sample looks more true to color than the wider left side) which looks very close to the color of my car. I am however leaning towards the silver as the pictures that I have seen of this on an arctic silver car look very nice. Last question and I believe that I know the answer but yours are satin silver and not gloss silver correct?
Thanks Can

^^^I believe the only available silver finish for the P40 is satin (no glossy finish is offered).
With respect to satin vs. gloss, FWIW to my eyes satin always looks better (strictly personal preference). Gloss has more initial bling factor but satin is the one that causes one to do a double take to re-look at a wheel. I've seen the black gloss and black satin P40 wheel next to each other and very clearly the satin finish is nicer, and wonderful to touch and "caress." But once again this could be secondary to personal preference; my aversion to bling stuffs on my already brightly colored Turbo.
